I still haven't decided which boat I want to build next, but I know it will be a B & B design. This sunset topped the day off. Quote

Docpal Posted November 2, 2009 Posted November 2, 2009 Many thanks to Graham and Carla for hosting this event again. There were more people, and more boats than last year. One of the best images of the day Saturday was seeing four CS 17's sailing at the same time with everything from reefed main/mizzen, furled main/third mast position stepped mizzen, single third stepped main, and full main and mizzen flying. here are few more pix to add to the collection... I apologize to those who weren't able to attend. I had hoped to post a bunch of great pictures and I failed. The good news is there were enough cameras that we're still getting to see the boats. Thanks to Graham and Carla and Randy and Bobby - You are wonderful hosts and I had a fine time. I'm looking foreward to seeing you again either Down East or at Jordan Lake. The sunset sail on Saturday was a pleasure and the cookout was a hoot and the conversation and storytelling before and after dark were not to be missed. And thank you, John Paul, for letting me take the helm of your Compac 16 - It was a particular pleasure to run down that beat up, dirty, yellow CS17 In addition to all that fun I think I hitched rides on as many powerboats as sailboats. Last year I drooled on Chick's boat but this year I got a ride - Very sweet, a three-day-tripper if I've ever seen one. And what can I say about Oyster's Mini-Simmons but "Woo hoo!" That pretty little thing is like nothing so much as a skateboard on water! 8) I hope to see you fine folks again next year and I promise not to forget the camera. Next year I'm gonna sail on that Belhaven if I can but I still don't know how any self-respecting individual can paint his yacht yellow... Quote

I hope that You/He can post some info here on the Forum as I only know what I heard in one of about 30 boat related conversations going on over the weekend. The rationale behind the twin boards is that this is a "working" boat he uses to haul crab traps on the Chesapeake, and he wanted a clear forward area. He also has a SECOND CS 17 for sale ( standard configuration) .....( and ten other boats...) Quote

Definately a CS17 kit in my near future as a first build adventure. Already have a helper with a big garage lined up. Rick :-D Quote
