  1. My Oh my... I am getting old... Reminiscing of things past.. one is I built a Kudzu Curlew. I had the book... mapped out the frames from the offsite table in in the book and built it.. One of my fondest builds and memories... I love every phase of the build... BUT,,, I could not use it... hurt my back to paddle it so bad I had to be lifted out of it...NOT the boats fault in any way. I have a bad back... I do miss it,, I miss how easy and satisfying it was to build... I would do it again in a heartbeat if some family member wanted one. Great job on your kayak... great job.. I so bad wish one of my kids would say "dad, I want a kayak... would you build me one like the one you made many years ago? I'd respond sure,,, here is what you need to buy to get it done!! Pictured is the one I built and the old gentleman that bought it...
  2. You have done a beautiful job on her. Can't wait to see it covered. Great work.
  3. Looks great on the water and out of the water. Wish I had known, I'd been there to watch. Howard Amon park is beautiful. Don't get there often. Congratulations on the launch.
  4. BEAUTIFUL!! I like the look so much, I forgive the purple! You did a super job.
  5. Congrats on another great build, Lisa. I too love the paint job. Very unique. What is your next boat?
  6. She looks great on the water. Very nice build. Looks like a beautiful lake also. hope you are not near all the fires!
  7. Turned out very good looking. Don't delay the launch long, it is going to get chilly around here pretty soon!
  8. Beautiful pictures, Lisa. Thanks for posting them. The second to the last belongs on Jeff's site. I would sell a lot of plan for that boat.
  9. Congratulations on the launch. Great looking kayak. Be safe, have fun.
  10. Congrats, really looks great. I love the stitching on the front. Very nice touch.
  11. Hey, yes I hope all is okay. I miss the Lisa enthusiasm. Been a while since there has been an update.
  12. Well golly, I have an inflatable kayak and an inflatable raft. I didn't even realize it was something to be embarressed about!! I take it with me a lot, because it takes up so little space in the back of my pickup. Feels good to come out of the closet!!
  13. His first book got me through my curlew build. From drawing the offset to the finish.
  14. Some beautiful kayaking. Do people live in those houses year round or are they summer cabins?
  15. Well I have to admit, purple is not on my list of colors, but still, you are doing another great job on the build. I think you have found your nitch. It is looking awesome, well except for the purple.....
  16. Looks very nice. It will look even better on the water. I didn't put painters on my kayak, because I forgot to drill the holes also. I have not missed them because the boat is of light and easy to lift. If you succeed with your plan of attack, I may try it, but I'll let your experment first
  17. Really looks nice. Can't wait to see launch pictures!
  18. Great looking setup. Can you open the back of the trailer with the boats on it?
  19. Made a tip for my soldering gun out of copper wire. Worked very well.
  20. I used about a quart and half, a little less, on my Curlew. Applied three coats. Curlew is 15'. I'd bet your 2 11' ones don't have a whole lot more surface area. Two quarts will probably do it in my opinion.
  21. Darn, I thought I was going to see a finished kayak! What's keeping ya??
