I can tell you, Jeff will recommend this for a seat: http://www.redfishkayak.com/seats.htm A lot of people buy that high density foam and make seats. There are tutorials on the internet. I had just a cushion in mine, it was not a good thing. I really need a good seat.

I'd use the one of you and your daughter out there if I were Jeff and you agreed of coarse. I shows great fun being had and some action.

Well, yes I did. The handle is hollow (staved I think). I did it because some day I need to make a mast for a little sail boat I have partically built and I wanted the practice. It is almost too light though.

Funny, when you eariler wrote you were going to name it Princess Leia, I knew I knew the name but couldn't remember where from. The first thing I thought of when I saw the "knot" was that Princess for Starwars... then I remember that is who you were talking about. You did a great recovry, matches will with the stitching going down the front, and I'm welling to bet you will be happy to have that handle there. I like it, signed Vader.

Sorry to read about the misshap, but I got a feeling it is not as bad as it is making you feel. If you can cover it up with a knot, no one will know except you and those you tell. Burning was a big fear for me when I did my kayak and I used an iron. I probably could have shrunk mine a little more but was being very cousious.

Lisa, are you sure this is your first boat! Looks absolutely beautiful! That is going to look soooo nice on the water! Congrats on very nice work.

Be hard to improve on what you have there! Really nice work. Looks like you gave it some shape also. instead of just flat, I really like that.
