Designer Posted November 1, 2006 Report Posted November 1, 2006 I have finally gotten our server to sort out our access to our website and I have just posted our story of the race. If anyone would like to read it, just go to the home page and look for Everglades Challenge 2006 under Articles. Quote
Mike Vacanti Posted November 2, 2006 Report Posted November 2, 2006 Do you mean the B&B home page? I don't see the article there. Mike Quote
Designer Posted November 2, 2006 Author Report Posted November 2, 2006 Mike, yes I meant the B & B home page. You should see a white page with blue down the left edge. If you see a beige home page our techie tells us that you have to dump your cache and bring it up new. I hope that this helps. I am interested if anyone else can or cannot find the new page. Quote
Mike Vacanti Posted November 2, 2006 Report Posted November 2, 2006 I've cleared my cache, cookies and history, restarted firefox and still see the same B & B home page that I've always seen. I also tried Internet Explorer and it didn't work either. Mike Quote
Designer Posted November 2, 2006 Author Report Posted November 2, 2006 Thanks Mike, I will pass this onto our techie to see why the old page is still coming up. Is there anyone else who can open the new page? Quote
Charlie Jones Posted November 2, 2006 Report Posted November 2, 2006 Not I . Cleared Cache also. Using Mozilla Quote
Designer Posted November 2, 2006 Author Report Posted November 2, 2006 Okay try www.bandbyachtdesigns.com/evergladeschallenge.htm Maybe we can access the page without opening the home page. Quote
P Doug (WA) Posted November 2, 2006 Report Posted November 2, 2006 I don't get there with either. I get the old web age and "can't find the page" with the address you supplied. Sorry! Quote
Charlie Jones Posted November 2, 2006 Report Posted November 2, 2006 I get "404 Not found" with that url Quote
Designer Posted November 2, 2006 Author Report Posted November 2, 2006 That is really disappointing. When I click on the link on this string it jumps right up. If I can't get them to fix this soon I will be talking to Frank to see if he can host our web site. Quote
Frank Hagan Posted November 2, 2006 Report Posted November 2, 2006 Graham, when you have the site in your browser, right click on a picture and then select "Properties" from the menu that pops up. Look at the "Address URL" field in Internet Explorer or the "Location" field if you're using Firefox. If you see anything other than "http://www.bandbyachtdesigns.com/" at the beginning of the field, then it is not on your server. Sometimes a designer will put it at a different address on the site, or your browser will be looking at your local drive for the files and making it appear that they are on the website ... in that case, you'll see a file path like "C:\Documents ..." for the image. I can't find the new pages on your site either, so maybe your tech guy hasn't actually uploaded it for "public consumption" yet. Quote
Designer Posted November 2, 2006 Author Report Posted November 2, 2006 Frank, it has the proper address http://www.bandbyachtdesigns.com/evergladeschallenge.htm as well as the rest of the pages. We have fired off three emails to him since last night with no response but I am hopeful that he will respond tonight. Quote
Frank Hagan Posted November 3, 2006 Report Posted November 3, 2006 Very strange! Well, let us know when he gets it back up and accessible. Quote
PinoyPiper Posted November 8, 2006 Report Posted November 8, 2006 any news on the article Graham? Quote
Designer Posted November 8, 2006 Author Report Posted November 8, 2006 Hi Roy, it's good to hear from you. After a total lack of response and interest from our web host I am in the process of switching the site over to Frank. As soon as we get it sorted out I will upload the new page and anounce it here. Garry Posted November 13, 2006 Report Posted November 13, 2006 Good News. Graham's story of the Everglades Challenge '06 is UP! http://www.bandbyachtdesigns.com/everglades%20challenge.htm It is on the webiste as it should be and is a great read. However, the story is repeated once and then the text for the "Why a Cat Ketch?" webpage appears. Graham, somebody is not taking the time to maintain your site! Its a wonderful story though and sounds like you guys turned in a great performance. Congratulations! Quote
Hirilonde Posted November 13, 2006 Report Posted November 13, 2006 I read the article as well, was a great read. They didn't just win, they smashed the old record! It sounds like a really fun race. Way different than "around the buoys". Quote

[/quote'] Graham maintains his site, but we're having problems getting him connected to the new server rather than the old, so he hasn't been able to implement any of his new designs. I think its an IP cache issue, since he can "ping" the new site, but cannot connect to it with his browser. Quote
Guest Doug N Posted November 14, 2006 Report Posted November 14, 2006 Just noticed that links are broken to the belhaven and princess 22, 26 on Graham's site. Links to Core Sounds and dinghys look ok. May be my browser (or the operator of it...) but don't think so. Doug Quote
