AmosSwogger Posted July 9, 2025 Posted July 9, 2025 I'm looking forward to the 2025 B&B Messabout; hope to see everyone there. Any idea when it will be? I need to put in for leave (also Don wants to know). Quote
Alan Stewart Posted July 9, 2025 Posted July 9, 2025 The 2025 Messabout is scheduled for the 17-19 of October this year. Hope to see a lot of people there! https://bandbyachtdesigns.com/annualmessabout/ Quote
AmosSwogger Posted September 26, 2025 Author Posted September 26, 2025 Looking forward to seeing everyone there. Who's coming? Anyone interested in sailing down the Bay River and spending the night at anchor on Bonner Bay Sunday afternoon to Monday (weather dependent of course)? It's a fun easy sail. Quote
Jknight611 Posted September 28, 2025 Posted September 28, 2025 We have stayed in Bonner Bay several times, excellent anchorage. And there is pretty good fishing there if anyone is interested. 1 Quote
Joe Anderson Posted October 1, 2025 Posted October 1, 2025 A sail down the Bay River to Bonner Bay Sunday sounds great. Bonner Bay is a fun place to explore and also makes a great anchorage as part of a longer trip. 1 Quote
Don Silsbe Posted October 2, 2025 Posted October 2, 2025 I would thoroughly enjoy doing an overnight with all of you! Bonner Bay has been on my list for a long time. Unfortunately, I need to be on the road Monday morning. Got guests coming in that week. My plan was to arrive early, and do Bonner Bay Thursday night. How flexible are your plans? 1 Quote
Joe Anderson Posted October 3, 2025 Posted October 3, 2025 I was planning on arriving Thursday, but I could probably swing arriving Wednesday. Then sail Bonner Bay Thursday as well as Sunday. Poor boat hasn't seen much water pass under her keelson this year. 2 Quote
AmosSwogger Posted October 3, 2025 Author Posted October 3, 2025 I'm very flexible; sailing to Bonner Bay Thursday afternoon works for me, we could raft up for dinner. Quote
Don Silsbe Posted October 3, 2025 Posted October 3, 2025 Cool! I’ll plan on Bonner Bay for Thursday night. 1 Quote
Don Silsbe Posted October 3, 2025 Posted October 3, 2025 I should add that my wife suffered a compression fracture in her lower back about a month ago. I’ve been waiting on her hand and foot. She is improving, but still requires my care. I am hopeful that I can still attend the messabout, but there’s still a chance I must stay behind. Here’s hoping I can come as planned. 1 Quote
Don Silsbe Posted October 10, 2025 Posted October 10, 2025 Good news! I will be attending the Messabout! I plan to arrive Wednesday evening, and launch Thursday morning. Thursday afternoon, I’ll sail to Bonner Bay. Who’s going to be there? Where in the bay do you normally anchor? 1 Quote
AmosSwogger Posted October 10, 2025 Author Posted October 10, 2025 I'll be there launching Thursday morning around 11 or 12 as well. As far as where to anchor in Bonner Bay, we'll look at the wind direction the day of and pick a spot that will give us some protection. If the wind is projected to be light that evening then it won't matter much where we anchor; its a big bay. We can raft up for dinner if you guys want. Weather looks perfect. Winds 10-15, highs in the 70s, lows in the 50s. 2 Quote
Don Silsbe Posted October 12, 2025 Posted October 12, 2025 @Alan Stewart— How’s the flooding there? I’m sure it’ll all be fine by next weekend. Just wondering. Quote
Alan Stewart Posted October 13, 2025 Posted October 13, 2025 Not bad at the shop but higher than normal. New Bern downtown got fairly high water enough to cancel most events this past weekend including Mumfest. 1 Quote
Andy Woerner Posted October 13, 2025 Posted October 13, 2025 We’re looking forward to seeing all of your boats and learning what we can. My 17 year old son Grayer is 5 months into his CS17 build. 1 Quote
Don Silsbe Posted October 14, 2025 Posted October 14, 2025 @Andy Woerner Please introduce yourself to me. I’ll be there with my CS17 Windependent. 4 Quote
Alan Stewart Posted October 20, 2025 Posted October 20, 2025 Pictures from the Messabout. Feel free to add if you have some! The weekend flew by. Writeup to come. https://photos.app.goo.gl/ot1AimxV9mwmcFGd6 2 Quote
Steve W Posted October 20, 2025 Posted October 20, 2025 Alan, great pics. Wish I was there. I've made a promise to myself to focus on being there next year. I'm assuming those two boys are yours. Enjoy every moment of the amusement and unproductivity they provide. It doesn't last forever. 1 Quote
Jknight611 Posted October 21, 2025 Posted October 21, 2025 Looks like another great time! Sorry to miss the raft-up, those are always a good time. Kalos was at the Madisonville Wood Boat festival again this year (that why we missed the Messabout) . She again got first place for sailboats. With the amount of drones in the air I am quite certain there will be YouTube videos soon. 3 Quote
