The idea of using an inverter to get a 110 plug in your vehical is probably the best and cheapest solution. Especially as you will allready have a 110v. adapter for your laptop. You can get the inverter anywhere.

Yes you can plug laptops into a 12v accessory recepticle. All you need is the right adaptor. Many laptop companies do not make such devices because of liability issues. Many new cars have a 120v plug built in. This will work for a laptop. Please do not operate a motor vehical while checking your email as you keep pace with a bus with wireless internet.

My last two laptops were Dell 610 latitudes. It is a highly dependable laptop. I work for a large computer services firm and this was the laptop of choice for the rank and file. I found them to be dependable, and reasonable powerfull. 1 GB is a good amount of memory for an office laptop.

The porta pot that we have in our trailer seems to do pretty well with two people for 4 days. I don't recall any smell. I don't think that I would want to use a separate system for solids. Too much effort involved there. Its interesting the range of convenience that people require for fun. My wife just got back from a back packing adventure. 4 people no tents involved. just a couple of tarps, ropes and walking sticks. I think my camping level has settled at the pop-up camper lever. Pretty swank accommodations. I am unsure where I would fall when it came to sleeping aboard a boat. Probably the potter 19 would be about as low as I could go. Hmmm..... I wonder if someone has made a pop-up daysailer. I suppose thats a boom tent when I think of it.

All foam boats typically have more layers of glass and epoxy to make up for the puncture resistance that the foam core lacks. I am unsure that there would be any weight loss.

Its out on the end of the boom for leverage. If you used a more complicated tackle at the mid boom point that would work too.

There was probably another block on the wire at the transome. The main sheet is secured to the end of the boom. It runs down to the block strung on the horse, up to the block on end of the boom, along the boom to the block at the midpoint of the boom. Then down to the block and cam cleat. Something like this....

Many power boats have spray rails. They are shaped like a right triangle. they are rails on the hull that are supposed to deflect spray away from the boat. They are mounted parallel to the chine and arc upwards near the bow. One leg of the right triangle glued to the hull, the hypotenuse side facing up. They are mounted slightly above the loaded waterline.

I second that. Bolger has designed some of the ugliest boats afloat. I suppose that I can understand that Bolger is an invotative and expert engineer, I cannot understand why anone would but a great deal of effort into building an ugly boat. I can see the opposite quit easilly. A good looking boat will sell even if it is not that good a sailboat

Its kind of reinventing the wheel isn't it? A center board is the best of both worlds. Its canted backwards and unlikely to collect vegitation and it will be knocked up by the hit on a rock.

I don't think that anyone would build the same boat given a seond chance. My brother tells me that the first sailboat a person chooses is allways "stable" The second is "fast". The choices and trade-offs you make differ with experiance.

I think your best chance to get something that you like will be to advertise your sails for sale and then buy new with the correct hue.

As the high caliber individual is mostly concerned with beam rather than LOA, this should be the dimension of concern. My wife has a sea kayak that would float me that I cannot sit in. My caliber being larger than that of the boat.
