  1. Spin him around and bowl him over.
  2. Will you share the price on that boat?
  3. from http://www.sttudy.org.uk/Bligh/bligh.htm "Bligh and 18 other crew members loyal to him were set adrift on April 28th in the Bounty
  4. There is a loss of efficiency at high amperages due to heat loss. The higher the amperage the higher the heat. I don't know if that is significant but it is a factor.
  5. You are on the right track. Just make them smaller still. another possiblity is to reduce the color depth but that may impact the quality of the image. I suggest reducing them to 300 x 400.
  6. Aint that the truth!! Mr Belt sander is your friend.
  7. No... No... long boarding is origionally a pirate term. Its that "long board" that they use when boarding ship from a dock.
  8. I would think that it would work just fine. Wait for a good moment then over you go. I would also insist on an engine with enough gas to get me all the way there. Seaworthness is often more a function of the captain and crew than of the boat.
  9. It doesn't seem possible that the interior fits in that boat. Congratulations!
  10. Beautiful boat! The world needs more sailboats. I also thank you for including a few people in your photos.
  11. I think you could rig a couple of brail lines that would at least allow you to clew up without dropping the yard.
  12. How high off the deck are your top sails? How will you reef them?
  13. I would go to the bateau site. They have a project going right now that is to illustrate just this sort of rebuild. IE the replacement of stringers and transom. http://bateau2.com/
  14. When you live in Ohio anything on the washington coast is seattle-ish. I have a brother that runs a local newspaper, the Port Townsend Leader. I hope to get out there for the wooden boat show. I've heard about the weekend for years.
  15. Seattle-ish...
  16. I'm curious, do you have pin rails onto which you will belay the sheets and braces?
  17. If nothing else please post a link to your project so that those who wish to follow your project can get a peak.
  18. I for one would like to see you finish your boat and launch. This would be a poorer place without your contribution. If folks don't care for your project tell them that thier input is not needed. Anyone one with an opinion will be criticized by someone. In reading your posts I have seen mostly enthusiastic interest. Don't worry about any of the rest.
  19. If you want a water proof Ipod case try a search or otterbox. I bought one for the wife. She has a kayak and she takes her ipod paddling.
  20. I'm certainly eager for more details!!
  21. I use a circular saw for most cutting. Then a jig saw for tight spots and tight curves. In both cases get at least a moderatly priced blade specifically for plywood. it will make the going much easier. The cheapest blade dull quickly. The most expensive cost more than two or three of the moderate priced blades.
  22. Many years ago I was a pizza driver. That was the crapiest job that I have ever held. But the owner of the shop also owned a flower shop and tapped his pizza drivers for flower delivery on mothers day, valentines day, etc. I never got a tip delivering flowers but the joy and excitment directed at me hour after hour was one of the most uplifting experianc3es of my life. I would have done the work for free.
  23. Its been my experiance that anything can be fixed with enough nerve and a belt sander.
  24. You might consider adding a windmill to your setup. The wind is often up when the sun is not adding power to your life.
