That really looks nice Mike. Another howling success!!! 8) 8)
  5. See the listing in the For Sale section on BYYB.
  6. Damn Mike, I always forget the grinder. I never put it away but never think of it either. Just fall over the thing all the time.
  7. Ken if you can heat those stainless caps up enough to drill a hole in the end you can drive the pin out with a drift. I use a big pair of channel locks on them if I can get to the lip. Sounds like you can't. Bud's fix is best, if you need to resorte to the saw next time it will be soft enough to cut.
  8. K-rad did you ever put in the cockpit drains? You could cut out that panel joiner and glue in a 1/8" sheet of ply over the entire floor and then build your removable grates over that. 3/4" drains in each side of the sole at the cabin bulkhead does wonders for easing the cleanup chores.
  9. Somehow the block reappeared. It has been gone since last night so should be good now. What a pain. Thank God for the new SW Frank. This will be much easier. I ma pretty much getting spammed from the same three or four idiots in Ru, PL and a couple with US URLs. There must be a hell of a lot of money in this somewhere.

I've been wondering how that one came out Mike. What a transformation. Ni ce job!! 8) 8)
  11. You bet Frank. Send the banned address and I'll take care of it. Most likely his porn references didn't meet our exacting standards! : OK found the problem, some one blocked *@Yahoo.com. Try it aagain Konrad and it should take.
  12. Hoser, we are not snubbing you!. I don't find any record of your registration after the big crash. Re file and I'll fix you up today. Glad to see you are still alive. Don't you dare bring up him, he may still be alive too. V/r Craig 8) 8) 8)
  13. In Key West why would the dopers worry? :-\
  14. After much thought I have decided to sell the Saralee and concentrate toward building another boat. Please see the For Sale posts on the BYYB for details and photos.
  15. And only about 12 hours from the spring BEER Cruise in Pensacola. There were Stevenson boat there this year I think.

Mike Stevenson says they should be back in operation later this month. They have been moving everything to a small town in Texas.
  17. It is sweet guys. The MH and the Saralee are 77' and she pulls like she was not even there. Past everything but a fuel stop, but what the hell, you can't have it all. 8) YOu are going to love that new one Greg!!!!!
  18. Congrats there Greg. 6 huh? That is a lot of sailing lessions Granddad. Best wishes to Mom and Pop too they did all the work. 8) 8) ;D ;D ;D
  19. The Saralee has sat outside under a tarp for 8 years now and I have had some of these same problems over the years. The shear rails are a never ending delamination. The dryness here has accelerated some of the delamination on the decks as the wood is moving under the glass and breaking the bonds along lines of weakness or poor technique. (glass sanded too thin). The little bulk works are beginning to check pretty badly and are split at a couple scupper holes. As some know the keel is completely gone from the foundering at Roosevelt. I can see by the number and places of failed surface integrity that her days are numbered due to water intrusion. She already has a new stem and a large portion of fore deck replaced due to rot. I am approaching the point where a new build is the better choice. She should have one more go round in her though. Good luck with the rebuild. She doesn
  20. Arrr, tis a fine lookin pair of sloops there Mates!! 8) 8)
  21. It is very doable and especially withthe two boards to ask questions of. I found the board very late inthe build so had to go through the whole learnig curve alone. These resources look like that take a good 6 months off the build by getting the builder past the spots that usually end up as rework. K-Rad transom trick is a case in point. Jump in and join the fun. 8)
  22. K-Rad you Hoser, how goes it. Good to see you are still alive. I saw you log in on the other board and was going to say something then got distracted and forgot. Welcome home.
  23. The epoxy will degrade pretty fast without UV protection Jeff. Try a scraper to get it all off. If the boat will not live in the water then paint will be all you need. Use latex and she will dry right out between uses. Just store her where she will not stay wet or collect fresh water in the hull. Both are sudden death for fresh water boats.
  24. Denis, I agree she looks wonderful. Love that blue and white ;D ;D ;D Here is a thought after looking at your main. Remove the lashing from the mast to the outer end of the boom. If you don't have one make an outhaul to tension the sail ( see Franks site for examples) and fly her loose footed. That will restore the shape at the foot and give a bit more power to the rig. Pull the outhaul tension up for strong winds and ease it out for weak. The light winds need a more wing shape to the sail then stronger winds. Plus you'll like the looks of the loose foot more.
