Denis Goyette Posted February 26, 2003 Posted February 26, 2003 Dinning Room Furniture:lol: Hull bottom completed in my dinning room [attachment over 4 years old deleted by admin] Quote
Frank Hagan Posted February 26, 2003 Posted February 26, 2003 You are a brave, brave man. When I saw your picture, I caught myself looking over my shoulder to make sure my wife didn't see me looking at boat parts in someone's dining room! Quote
Greg Luckett Posted February 26, 2003 Posted February 26, 2003 I was only brave enough to look at this AFTER my wife left for work. Do you put a table cloth over it? Quote
Joe(Cold Spring onHudson) Posted February 26, 2003 Posted February 26, 2003 Um dude, have you thought long and hard about this A couple of questions 1) How much of the actual boat are you going to attempt to build in your dinning room 2) Are you married / significant other and if you are how many of those little green pills do you put in her morning coffee 3) when your finished with the boat have you measured the doors  I knew a guy that built a 12 ft rowing skiff in his living room of the apartment below me. He did it AFTER his wife divorced him  Quote
Robert Cox Posted February 26, 2003 Posted February 26, 2003 At least he's not building a Vacationer. Bob Quote
Stuart Benbow Posted February 26, 2003 Posted February 26, 2003 If he can't get it out through the door, he could always turn it into something like this:  Quote
capt jake Posted February 26, 2003 Posted February 26, 2003 Now I like that!!! I must admit, I have taken over a spare bedroom with spars and things! Quote

Phil Gowans Posted February 26, 2003 Posted February 26, 2003 Be Careful here. My cousins father in-law built a small (12ft) sailboat in his kitchen. He did a great job - I've seen the boat. But it took him a year. He said that was what ended his marriage. He laughs about it now, but I'm sure it was no laughing matter then. I simply can't imagine that kind of turf battle. I seldom saw SWMBO out in the garage during my building process. I picture the two of them working in the kitchen at the same time. "Oh honey, I'm sorry about that epoxy spill, but could you pass me that clamp." "If you expect dinner anytime soon you've got to keep your sawdust over on your half. I'm tired of eating gritty food." :x Quote
Denis Goyette Posted February 26, 2003 Author Posted February 26, 2003 Rest assurre people....It fit out the door and once I do the deck in the dinning room that will be then end of it ,I will have to resume the construcion in the garage P.S. My wife is still with me and again this morning she told me that she loves me...so I am safe Quote
Johannah Posted February 26, 2003 Posted February 26, 2003 Denis, don't listen to these goofs. Your wife is clearly a woman of good taste in boats and men! Saw on! 8) Quote
capt jake Posted February 26, 2003 Posted February 26, 2003 Your wife is clearly a woman of good taste in boats and men! I am assuming that means, as long as you don't get epoxy on the carpet!! In my house, my name becomes 'Mud' or something very close. Who?? ME??? Must have been those darned cats......Can you train a cat to wipe their feet?? :D Quote

Cats and epoxy are a bad mix. Cat hair IN epoxy is NOT an approved filler. Whole cats might be a different matter, though! Quote
T. Nelson Surbrook Posted February 27, 2003 Posted February 27, 2003 Cats work fine as a filler in epoxy, you just have to mix them really well. Quote
Brent Posted February 27, 2003 Posted February 27, 2003 So, this is what is meant by the term cat boat. Quote
Johannah Posted February 27, 2003 Posted February 27, 2003 Ooooooof. Cut it out. No puns. None. Nada. Pleeeeeeeese Quote
