capt jake Posted February 2, 2007 Posted February 2, 2007 OK, I am able to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Went to Donato's in Seattle today and browsed around. I bought about $85 worth of odds and ends (worth, retail of about $175). Donato's is a second hand boat parts place. Lots of surplus mostly new, but some slightly used items. I had to back away after about 2 hours. :) Hit three chrome shops and am afraid I am going to have to bight the bullet on the chroming and git r dun. The bow light is going to be about $200!!:shock: Anyway, name for the runabout?? 1956, wood, etc, etc... Skippercraft is the brand name. Old Growth Sawdust Second Chance Wood Not Ideas???? Edited: I picked up (what turns out to be) a US Power Squadron flag. Is it a cardinal sin to fly that without being a member? Price was too good and it would look great on the font of the baot. Quote

Now, all my earlier ideas sound superficial and bland to me. Carrying a person's name, my boat feels deeper, more complex and multifaceted, like the person herself. My new boat, a Michalak "Piccup Pram," will probably carry my wife's childhood nickname, Bebe. Quote
