Brent Posted April 11, 2005 Posted April 11, 2005 I run a staysail on a CS20. Got mine from Graham. The sail is a joy on a deep reach, and fabulous for making good progress in those light air moments. If there is much breeze flying it requires two people, and be ready for some serious speed. Jibing is done by dousing the sail completely are resetting on the opposite side. Quote
Designer Posted April 12, 2005 Posted April 12, 2005 The mizzen staysail is one of my favorite sails. I can't imagine a cat ketch without one. It is like having a spinnaker without the problems. You can carry it from a close reach to within 20 degrees from dead down wind and it is faster to tack if your course us straight down wind. I will email you a drawing of the sail if you need it. With sleeves over the mast I will need to work out how to rig a halyard to raise and lower the sail. I was thinking I could just tie a block to the webbing at the top of the sail.
