  1. hi ihave hookeed my snotter on a 16" lenght of abs slipped over the mast on my previous coresound 17'. choose abs abt 3/16" thick by2" to 2 1/2"diameter that tubing have to be smaller than your mast, remove abt 1" strip wide strip from tubing, the opening will permit the tubing to go on each side of your mast track ,to do that heat your tubing in water, might need woodeen block to keep it open to slipp over your mast.to hook your snotter lay a 3/8 rope lenghtwise on front tubing ,ma 1 or 2 loop for snotter ajustement, glue the rope with epoxy and fiberglass.your block will pull even on on mast and never come out , you can reduce lenght of tubing 6" to10" ,but it will not be possible to put 16" wooden dowell abt 3/4 diam along side the tubing to protect yor mast track and sail from spritt abrasion dowind. mes 2 cennes hi fern

  4. hi every body . another solution glued and screweed flex o rail track on mast 80% cheaper than stainless steel track;)same material graham had used for his dodger on deck for his cs 17. have a 3/16 rope sew on your sail, it work good except, you will need main sails feeders for the entrance of the rope in the flex o rail track.take care in handling mast not to hit flex o rail or storing it laying on track. i use that system for 2 year now,(i added main sail feeder this year it work very good i can raise sail from helm it is safer and faster.as said in earlier post it is not the ultimate solution but it is one of the solution . fern double7 core sound 77 spindrift 11'

  6. i built the coaming of my cs 17#77 with solid3/8 " thick ash,the corner 4' lenght where steamed and dry fitted with 4 hands ,,few days later they where epoxied in place and 4 straight piece where added in between.i follow abt the same procedure as ray frechette for scribbing and final dimension of coaming. choose your ash from same three or plank to have same colour and grain compatibility, the 2small piece front and rear camefrom same plank as the adjacent corner .steaming is not the only solution but it is easy one with good result. fern, double 7
  7. why not inserting swimming noddle inside mast. this is wath i have done, you can reduce the diameter of the noddle on the bench saw or with sharp knife. and compress it to the required diameter and secure with ligth tape and insert it ? double 7 fern

  9. Hoops and attached information The hoops are 3/4" PVC water pipe 75 psi with 1/2" PVC water pipe inserted inside for supplement rigidity, they are inserted in 1" PVC electric tubing 6" approximatively, this tubing is bolted in bottom to 1/2" plywood abt 4"x6", the bolt is used as a stopper for 3/4" PVC. The top of that 6" tubing is holding with heavy duty tie wrap or PVC clamps. The hoops are just inserted in, pressure keep them in. All these block stay put with rubber band from bike and motor bike tube from 1 1/2" to 3" diameter, tube can be cut different width for various strength. The canevas hold with regular snap fastener on the outside of the block. Velcro is used inside around the hoop to keep everything straight. As for the wind making a sail out of that canevas, the round form of that arrangement will spill the wind easily, I hope !!! Anyhow you never navigate in heavy wind with all the canevas on. Full canevas will be for overnighting in protected anchorage only. Double 7
