Thanks all! Chris the trailer is a modified EZ Loader. Very modified! It fits on it pretty well. the numbers are all gone from the MFG sticker, so I don't know the particulars. Once I get some of the junk out of the way, I will take a few pictures of it.

So it sounds like the u-bolt idea through the upper rubrail would work? Judging by the replies I see. I am not fearfull of the bow, with the winch and all, just teh stern of the boat. The u-bolts will help keep the straps away from the finish. Twisting the straps!!! Doh! Why have I never thought of that!! That is a great tip!!! :)

One view and then; No wonder I am always confused. Both seem to have valid points. Maybe a quickly detatchable/ re-locatable/tiltable tiller is in order!!

Well, the boat is on a trailer, though I have to go out again tommorow to get some different brackets for the bunks and rollers. Only took a few hours, block and tackle and some brute strength to get it done. Scrambling trying to get things tidied up around here. Selling our house and buying another. What a nerve racking e thing!! Made an offer on one and have countered the offer on ours. If all goes through, we have a mere 30 days to move, etc, etc! Anybody up for a moving party? A question also; the best solution to tie down the stern to the tralier?? I have pondered u-bolts through the upper rubrail, though they would be horizontal, and my fear is the stresses would be too great for this configuration. Thoughts?

Thanks Capt Red. No, I haven't sailed her yet. The 'backs' of the cockpit seats are sealed off. No access. Floatation!! It seemed the easiest at that stage and one less place for leaks. I can always instalsome of those 4" round access ports if ned be.

OK, here is the tiller set-up. It is laminated Honduran made from a template taken from a Catalina 22. I need to know if (in this photo) it is placed about right in the cockpit or??? Thanks!!

Man you are building fast!! Looking good too!!! If you play hooky tomorrow, we might get together to look at some different options??? You can also give me some ideas I think!

Typical of latex paint that is uncured. I won't go into the details of what happened when my son in law painted our house last year; but suffice to say.... it must cure before exposed to moisture!!!! If it is a light exposure, it will probably survive. Anything more... well it won't survive! ;D I have a lot of deck rails that need... a repaint now! Let it set ans you wil be fine!!

How true and how boring! I got TB (tired butt) after a few (4) hours!! Nothing yet, getting close and then, sold. Bummer. Found one, really nice, but SWMBO doesn't like the road next to it. Can't blame her, but it is 2 acres and a heated high bay shop. :D I might be out that way again, you should shoot me your address and number in case I am close. I will call, and would love to see your progress, Olds, hydro... :D...

FWIW, I have gotten quotes from Edensaw (and I live near to them). If I made an order greater than (bear with me as I can't recall the exact figure) $1000 or $1500, they would deliver to my door no charge. All I am suggesting is that you may want to buy some more for a future project or pool the order with another to bring the amount up there. You may want to call them and ask them what amount is needed to get the break. They have always been very friendly and nice to me on the phone. They are definitely getting my next order, of course it will be larger; you always build a bigger boat, right??

Excellent information Mike! Fact is, if you don't wet out the epoxy well enough, the same problem will develop! One must go back over the applied area and assure that it is properly coated, before it begins to cure. I think this is going to be true no matter what product is used.

Using long screws and glueing the jaws on is an excellent and simpler method of construction That worked for me!! Simple and got the project moving.

Well heck, I was using the 4200 and very pleased and then.... the danged screws I bought are about a 1/16" too short!! I hate when a plan falls apart!! Unfortunately, the only place that has these type of screws is closed on the weekends, so no I must wait. Bummer. I need to get this done as the Mrs's found a new place, the type of place 'we just must have'! I am in agreement with her, so I must tidy up and get things 'ship shape'! I must start cleaning windows, mowing the lawn, sweeping out the shop, throwing away my prized pieces of stuff!! :D Do you know how long it took to aquire all of my prized stuff!!! :shock: :shock:

Yes, you can use that. Fear not on the adhesive. If you can find a supplier who has PLU (?) brand adhesives (Loew's) In this line you can find a poly-urethane adhesive for about 3.99 vs $15 as the marine store. It will work just as well as 5200!! Forge on!!! You will beat me to a launching!! :D
