OK, thanks, i am trying to lay out the masking for the non-skid. I wanted a margin around things, thus the cleat delma. I will ponder further!! Guess what?? Don't attempt to go into the boat while on jack stands and your almost adult son is inside on the same side as you enter!!!!! :shock: Thus, is comes crashing down!!! Only a minor bruise to my knee, he went un hurt! The hull bottom?? Sigh, I will go mix up some paint to roll it again!! Amazing how tough that glasas/epoxy stuff is!! Really!! It has talken a hell of a beating here in the shop, and I am impressed!! :) just a few gouges and dents, noting to worry about on the bottom, right Frank?? Holy Mackerel!!! :)

Nah!!! I am getting burned out on this. I am geting excited about attaching hardware and doing the rigging!! Not too excited about the amount of buffing I have ahead, oh wel!!

Actually, I was going to go with 4" bronze closed base cleats. The only bronze ones I could find in the right scale. The other option is black nylon 5". What do you think??

Tim, you are thinking exactly as I am on the fore hatch. I just drilled the holes, on hte fore side. I used and offset hatch hinge that will allow it to open beyond 90 degrees. I am also contemplating a way to keep it open. A simple cabinet sliding stay might work, though they are not SS. As far as the cleats, I may take a pic and post it to get further advise. Thanks!!

Actually, the aft two I was contemplating plaicng at the panel joiner for teh deck. Just about mid cockpit. Might come in handy for tying off the tiller?? Just forward of that, at the widest portion, I thought about another, to tye off a fender??

Little questions, but I only want to drill the holes once!! Forward hatch cover; hinge on the front or rear?? I know the plans say to hinge it on the rear, but there was quite a discussion about this a while back. I think the conclusion was to hinge it on the forward side.? Easier to get into while under way and won't want to blow open when being towed. Deck cleats; I am pondering between 4 or 6 total. 2 or 3 per side. Thoughts?? Club foot eye bolt; I am not using a club foot but still have the bolt at that location to secure the sprit. What are the merits of leaving the eye bolt there for other purposes? Or should I just replace it with a carriage bolt? :shock: :shock: :?
