For scarfing the stringers, how short of a section is too short? I have access to a bunch of 4’ high quality cedar fence pickets, but to make them for a good sized canoe, it would be as much scarf joint as wood! So, how short is too short when scarfing short pieces together for the stringers? Thanks!1 point

Yeah, I’ve missed a few Sydney Raid trips lately. My wife & I were out in central Australia on a month long camping road trip, in my other great distraction an old Land Rover Defender Ute (pickup). We have a good thing going with Sydney Raid, great bunch of people & some fun trips in company.1 point

The rub rails on my Lapwing are made of short pieces scarfed. If you do a nice 8:1 scarf, I see no issues.1 point
