I never get tired of seeing pics of construction or on the water in any stage of a boat's life. Please share as many pics as you want.

That is an indecently clean shop....wish mine looked that nice at least once. :oops:

He doesn't work in the shop. He just moved his boat there to take the picture.

Hello Jan,

I have to say I feel better now that I've seen the previous boatbuilding construction. I'm about 2 weeks behind you having started on Monday and put in 3.5 hours so far- I only have photos of scarf joints. My garage is 19.6 ft (I'm getting used to the atavistic imperial system as Australia went metric about 30 years ago) with a width of 8 feet plus a little for a bench outside that, so it is a tight fit. I can roll it out the door if necessary.

My garage isn't nearly as neat and tidy :oops:

Having built a CS17 - it is a great project - and then you get the ongoing pleasure to harness the elements to make your way across the wate in your own creation.

The only problem in the equation is that it does not in anyway cure the 'itch' of wanting to build something else.

I am in the south east part of the state. The Tri-Cities. I have the Columbis and Snake rivers close by. For some reason there is very little sailing on the Columbia in this area. Maybe current or wind or to many power boats and water skiiers. Most sailing is up on the Snake behind one of the dams.

Lake Chalen is huge, can you sail there?

Been to Winthrop. Beautiful place. Use to go to a lodge up by there and cross country ski, in my younger days.

I spent my vacation last summer at lake Chelan.

The lake and surrounds are gorgeous, but not the best sailing. The mountain thermals and canyons made for very unpredictable wind velocities and directions. We rarely had the same wind for more than twenty minutes, and it would regularly go from flat calm to 25 knots and back to calm again in ten to fifteen minutes.

We stayed at the state park and sailed around from there. If I had it to do again I would load up the boat and make the epic voyage up to Stehikan (epic without an outboard, a long day with).
