I think that the size of the grommet should be determined by the size of the line that will pass through the grommet.

The tack and clew grommets should be similar to those at the foot of the sail. At least that's what my Sailmakers apprentice says.

I would guess not. unless he has completely done his own thing with the deck houses. The lines of the hull don't look right either. It looks like it has more beam than the roberts spray.

I am afraid that this is a photoshop creation. You can see on the boundry of the objects where the background has been cut out.

Its really not that hard to do. Getting access is that hard part.

Quite the can of worms I opened. I'm sorry I used the USCG word. I did not mean to imply that you must build to their standards just that the foam that they specify is an excellent source of fool proof positive buoyancy.
