Thanks all for your interest and kind comments on our interesting boat. This weekend we do some sailing on Big Lake with the motor in the motorwell. Maria CS20 104 Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 Understatement in not nearly satisfying, "Graham You Old Sea Dog", AMAZING. Id love to add a three foot SUgar Scoop to the back end of the CS 20 104 and five foot bow sprit for a small spinaker but my wife would hold a Viking Funeral with my body in the boat and burning the whole of our boat in the swimming pool, with guests watching, and probably rightly so since she has had so much patience. That boat is awesome and I love the forward slope of the forward cabin. Not much head room but it is a weather shelter and sleeping hidey hole and place to warm coffee, tea, and other beverages as apropriate, I suspect. How was the sugar scoop put together, and could an almost complete CS 20 be modified to accomodate the altercation? AWESOME Boat, absolutely beautiful, look forward to a hundred pics. Jim A Quote

sitearch Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 Hello All from Alaska again, Our "interesting boat" was super last Saturday under sail and.... under motor. Wow,wow,wow, Graham I just have to tell you again how unbelievable your CS hull is. I absolutely love it. We launched on Big Lake under blue skies with about a 6-8 knot wind. We got up on plane very easily and she was smooth on every point. I was so thrilled. She is very, very fast. I wish the winds would have been around 15 knots to really see what she could do, but maybe this weekend. We had three people in the boat plus this weekend we sailed with our new motor placed in the motor well. She was quick and smooth even with our motor mounted in the well, we tilt the motor so the prop is out of the water and the added sugar skirt I added really performed well giving us added waterline and extra buoyancy to offset the motor weight. For awhile with the sails down and the centerboard up we motored around near 8-10 knots at about 1/2 throttle. I wanted to get this report to those who might be interested. I will add pictures of the added skirt this week when I get a second. In answer to the question on the cabin lines, the lines of the cuddy/cabin are my design so you can't blame Graham for that, but he did help me work out some of the structure to make it lighter. The centered motor well works very well putting the prop in front of the rudder. I promise the get some pictures linked so those interested can see how I added the skirt and motor well and cabin. And yes the cabin has room for two to berth with sleeping bags, and just enough head room near the companionway to sit up (I'm 5'11")and get out of the rain. More later, Happy sailing.
