Charlie Jones Posted December 17, 2005 Posted December 17, 2005 used a small amount of contact cement to hold it in place as needed. As little as possible- the curve of the hull is not really great right along there. The shop is mostly built. I have lights and outlets along one wall. Have the emt run for most of the other wall and the 220 circuit to the compressor. Three nights this week til almost midnight installing wiring and lights. Plan to have that wiring done today, and hang the big double doors up front tomorrow so I can start moving machinery in next week. That's how I'll probably spend Christmas- setting up the shop. But I'm excited about it. Still have to run the 220 circuit for the table saw, but I'm bringing that emt and wiring from the old shop so can't do that just yet. Here's two shots. The first taken on the Weds am before Thanksgiving, the second on saturday, 11 days later. Quote

It has always worried me putting anything absorbent into a boat when in admittedly extreme conditions it could absorb water, i.e. going to windward with a few litres of loose bilgewater. I guess the wooden lining over the polyurethene insulation will stop it becoming wet. Years ago I saw a Nordic folkboat with batten linings to the ceilings. When I admired the ventilation they provided, as well as looking good, the owner told me the reason he installed them was so he could tie everything down to them with little bits of marline in bad weather!
