I am a little concerned when i spread my plans out. I have 3 dogs and one of them right a way walked over and stood on top of them.

I can cut the frames and stem and stuff before I put up my "shed." My wife hates my "circus tent" that I build under so I'm going to delay putting it up as long as possible. I figure I'll start cutting the frames in April or so. capt. jake, let me know what weekend you are going to be around and I'll collect my son-in-law and we will come down and take a look on your networking issue. 8) I was discussing engine selection with swmbo and was informed that there was no reason for the discussion because I had already told her I wanted a diesel (which I do.) I told her about the cost and she stated that when has the cost of something I wanted ever stopped me from getting that something. ( which in a way is true...but only in a way...) :roll: Still spending a lot of time going over and over the instructions. I tell you. I am very glad I built a Weekender first. The learning curve looks to be about the same as when I started the Weekender. Little more framing and a whole lot more engine and interior work. :wink:

Barry. That's the plan. I have a question though, wouldn't it be easier to put the 2 foot in by adding an extra station in the middle? That way I don't have to add that pesky 1 and 4/5ths everywhere. I really like the Yanmar one cylinder. You can had crank it if your batteries are dead to get a start. Puts out almost 10Hps. Greg, I like the idea of at least a little fuel economy. Low hps. cruising boats. Hopefully I'll remember to bring some type of kicker get home motor. Maybe not. Didn't there use to be a place for taking a poll? :? I have the option of either making it an inboard or an outboard. I really like the idea of an inboard but I like the price of the outboard. Plus I just think it would look cooler. The inboard that is. Opinions?

A while back I mentioned about building a cruising type motorboat. I really like the workhorse, old-timey look (That is why I built a weekender) so I chose this design. http://glen-l.com/designs/cruiser/bojest.html I have just recently ordered the plans and am anxiously waiting their arrival. I figure on putting the 20 X 10 foot shelter up in march and begin actual construction in april. I know Glen-l has their own forum but I'd really rather stay with the people I trust.

Turning really isn't the problem. Its when your almost done and you have to get it onto the trailer....That's when the stress happens.

So, he is rebuilding the boat in the bottom picture? Wow, that looks like a lot of work. Is he using the old boat as a pattern or actually trying to "fix" the older one?
