The front or the top panel? I remember it was tough getting the top panel and stringers in place. I think I used the brute force method. If your talking about the front with the little access hatch made for VERY small people I can't help. I don't see how it could effect the steering; if your going to use a wheel, the angle will be the same...errr... be sure get the mesurement from the bottom of the panel to the center of the hole; and if using a tiller just make it a little taller. I know you know but I got to say it, don't forget the panel is not supposed to fit to the sides.

Sounds a lot like the Air Cadets here in Washington. Monthly trainings on weekends and the like. The kid I knew had a great time and he learned how to fly. As far as I know there was no commitment, just the option. Gives a person a better idea on what they are in for if they are thinking they want to go into the military anyway.

Is that the same as the sea scouts? Or is it like the state air cadets?

Dacron sails with a lapper as opposed to polytarp standard. :shock: I still have to make a lapper before the "season" opens. I'm kinda bummed, I was going to take my daughter and her um...significant other...on a little sail while they were up from Lost Wages...I mean Las Vegas but there hasn't been a non-rainy day for over a week. I also was a little concerned about not being able to order via the net. I took the plunge and made a phone call...this was just after several hurricanes went though the area. Even though at the time they were without power and had other issues happening locally, I recieved the items I bought promply and in good order. VERY happy with their service and product. Only issue I had with the epoxy was operator error. :roll: :wink:

Ok, I'm torn, I really like sailboats, I like sailing, I like getting somewhere and not spending any money while doing so. 8) The admirial wishes to go from here to there. :roll: I have whined enough to get a tentitive ok for building another boat, starting this summer. :wink: SWMBO asked why I didn't buy another boat. I LIKE BUILDING BOATS! The weekender if a great little boat but I need something larger for overnighting comfort. Sooooo....I like the princess model on B&B. What would be the difference of building costs between the 26 and the 22? One more thing. I was having triouble finding the UMHV (or what ever those letters were) with the proper thickness for making the sheeves. I found some of the thicker cutting boards worked great for a fraction of the cost of buying the material by the sheet. :shock: Used a hole saw on my drill press to cut them out. Worked great.

Make sure your gape for the sheeves is exact. If you have too much (like me :oops: ) the rope will jam between the block and the sheeve :cry: which makes sailing just that much more challanging. :wink: The actual construction is fairly simple. Only hard part are the tolerences. Actually, thinking about it, my problem is that I tend to get bored...hence sloppy work. Get 'er done!! :twisted:

I'm sorry, I'm not allowed to talk to you since you are in Montana, You'll have to move to a different State if you want to talk... :wink Some people overlap the glass from the topsides to the hull. I guess it could be an issue... and you don't have to worry about scuffing the finish of the topsides when you turn it over on its head. I'm sure there are more reasons than that but I don't know 'um. :? Are the sites your talking about links? If so check your security filter on your computer, sometimes it doesn't like to let in a site that leaves a cookie. Also, if it says it can't display the site try reloading it using the www. address. :roll: now that I've told you everything you already know I'll let people more knowledgeable than me get you some real answers.

Ya' know, :wink: if it wasn't for those pesky little stays, you could most likely get'er to do a 360 :twisted: but seriously, the main will swing all the way to the backstays. That is almost 90 like bud said, I just got a visual of a boat going down wind...swinging around its mast. :wink: Boat like thta could use a keel :roll: ok, i'll go away now. :oops:

Compaired to what the wake problem is usually up there it was nothing. Plus, I was far enough south of the ferry lanes that the lifting motion was smooth and not abrupt. Really, they only run about every half an hour and since they were the only thing out there, besides me and that one other boat way out in the middle I didn't have any problem at all. Even on the worst days with wakes I find that the Weekender rides over the top without any problem. 8) It might slow down my progress if the wind is light but...
