Tried adjusting the camera settings. Didn't really seem to help much. I am sure it is operator error. :roll: :oops: Lets try this...building up the transom.

Only photoshop stuff I have is easy thumbnail and what ever came with the viewer of XP. cut the stem and the double breasthooks. Plotted the transom and the 1st frame on the building surface.

interesting thread. I think I've settled on the yanmar 1GM10.

Looking at those pictures reminded me of the sails capt jake gave me late last summer. I looked at them real fast then and put them away. I took them out again and by gosh, by golly by gum...easy cut down and small repair and I'll actually have real sails!!!! 8) I am not cheap....I'm frugal. :roll: :wink:

So I spent all day thinking about the size of the model. I compared the two sizes, thought about the pros and cons of each. SWMBO wondered what was up... so I told her.... :? :oops: I will be building the 1/8th scale size. I've been married 23 years... :wink: Below in some type of order arranged by chance are: The sagging plan table. The braced table. The brace. A shot of my "shop," that used to be my daughters bedroom. And the size of the 1/8 compared to the 1/4. If you guys and gals don't mind I would kind of like to go through this whole process with you all. ... :oops: :oops: and if the above is OK how do I make the pictures I take come out better, these are lousy. :oops: :oops:

Ok guys, as I sit here and ponder these "reduced" plans I'm beginning to think perhaps I need to lower the scale some more. I think I'll see what 1/8 looks like. This was not supposed to be a kids boat. :oops: :wink:

I'm building a model 1/4 scale of the boat I am going to build. The Glen-L Bo Jest.

went down to the "local" copy shop and reduced the size of the full sized frame plans to 1/4 scale. 8) Boy, this is going to be really cool looking when I get done. Big :shock: the sheets were too wide even for their oversized copier so I had to fold the plans and do half at a time. When I got home it was cut and paste. Here is a shot of the rebuced plans. They were 4' X8'.

Barry was nice enough to invite me up to his home the other day 8) and go over the building schedule of the Bo Jest I am going to build. After mulling over all the information I was given. Looking at the past history of boat building (my attempts anyway.) And particulary what kind of outcome I was looking for. I have decided to first make a scale model of the boat so that I will understand at least a little better what I am about. :? :? I'll have a little better working conditions now than later. :wink: I'm throwing it out right now that I have never made a model before. Well, as a kid maybe but that hardly counts. :oops:

Nice little boat. Perfect for the jobs you require it to do! How far do you have to go to get to the water? Looks like a dory hull with a taste of kayak?
