Charlie Jones Posted May 14, 2006 Author Posted May 14, 2006 Garry- 5 inch stainless Herreshoff style, through bolted through an added 6 inch long hard pine backing block set between the coaming carlin and sheer clamp, glued and screwed. You can pick the boat up using them. I DETEST little cleats, and would not agree to put smaller cleats on any boat of any size. If the cleat isn't big enough for at least two lines of appropriate size it's junk as far as I'm concerned. On Tehani we replaced the original single centerline surfboard style with a pair of 10 inch Herreshof style, in bronze. Added a pair of 8 inchers aft to replace the 6 inch ones there originally. Undersized cleats are a real peeve of mine. Quote
Designer Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 The boat looks great as I have come to expect from Charlie. I agree with Charlie completely about the cleats but the one aggravation with a cat ketch is that the mizzen sheet will foul on those cleats on every gybe. If it was my boat I would make some filler pieces to fit under and around the the cleat horns held by shock cord so that the sheets will glide over cleats. Quote
JeffM Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 Very pretty, Charlie! Also good pictures for comparing with the cs20. It looks as though the cockpits are nearly the same length, with a smaller foredeck. The cb appears to go further forward into the forward seat than in the 20. Quote

What seat hatches did you install? I was looking at the plans for my CS 20 to see how big a hatch I could fit into the seal tops? Quote
