Andy B Posted February 6, 2025 Author Posted February 6, 2025 Two new boats listed this week. In Alabama is a CS-17.1 for a low price of $3,500. Pictures don't really show the level of quality, but it says the sails have been cleaned and it's recently been painted, and includes an outboard. https://mobile.craigslist.org/boa/d/elberta-core-sound-17-sailboat/7821966607.html In the PNW is a beautiful 17.3, fully outfitted, asking $14,000. I think it's owned by a forum regular but I can't place it. There are a ton of extra features on this boat! https://seattle.craigslist.org/see/boa/d/seattle-core-sound-17-cat-ketch/7822472233.html Quote

For this price you could do a lot of sailing very soon. If it's not the boat for you, you'd be able to recoup most if not all your money. If you build one there will be quite a time before you sail it. I hate to say it, but you probably won't recoup most of your money and you will not get paid for your time. I did a quick Google Map search, and it looks you would have a Core Sound 17 in your driveway ready to sail in about 10 hours. Safe trip!!! I think these guys are right. You couldn't build that boat for that. I remember when Jim was building that. I think I was finding my way on my Spindrift 11N. She's a a beauty. Quote
Andy B Posted February 14, 2025 Author Posted February 14, 2025 Not a Core Sound, but a B&B Spindrift for sale. Brand new, $5,000. It's interesting that it's priced around where a lot of CS-17 boats are. https://sailingtexas.com/202401/spindrift9101.html Quote

That is what a professional would have to get to justify a business and it's expenses. People pay more than that for a Fatty Knees. I wish we could get what are boats are worth. Few of us ever will. Andy B Posted May 14, 2025 Author Posted May 14, 2025 Here's a great looking CS-17 with a lot of extras at a great price, $5,500. You'll have to go to the desert to get her, but how often do you get a chance to take your first sail in Lake Tahoe? https://reno.craigslist.org/boa/d/gardnerville-core-sound-17-sailboat/7846547113.html Quote
