SewerSlave
I just applied a coat of Interlux Prinekote on my topside. It didnt lay down as smooth as I expected after applying with a dense foam roller, no tipping. The prep was well done to 220 grit and Im painting the bow and top of gunnels - relatively flat laying surfaces. Is this normal? After sanding, will the Interlux Perfection lay the same without tipping?
Don Silsbe
That high-build primer is there so you can sand 2/3 of it away. Its main purpose is to act as a sort of final step of fairing compound, more than to provide “grip” for the top coat. Yes. Sand away. That’s what it is for. It will be lovely. Mike Vacanti
It's also possible that you didn't thin the primer enough.
