“Intrepid”, a Poco Barta build

It has all begun. I’m lofting the frames onto poster board, these will get transferred to Baltic Birch once I have a construction space organized.

It would be a LOT easier just to order a set of plans. -Ben

Also, it is easier to loft directly on plywood. It saves having to cut out posterboard and trace onto plywood.

Some times easier isn't the point.  If trying to save plywood, then pre-lofting on paper allows for an efficient jig saw puzzle of a cutting layout. Occasionally, a tiny piece fits inside a large frame.

I have never offered this one in full size plans and it is a good paddling boat too. I would like to have one but i have way too many boats now.

It would, but then I wouldn’t learn how to loft frames from offsets. There will be a significant amount of satisfaction gained from turning a handful of charts with numbers on them into a living, breathing craft.

Progress is continuing, albeit slowly. I have a family to worry about, boat work comes in short snatches when I have time...
