  1. You will get over 30 knots with that setup !!
  2. Nice boat ! Well done treywil What motor Hp has she got ?
  3. Very nice and clean boat ! Congratulations Fishman ! Your topic is one of the main reasons for me to build this boat ! Cant wait till I have the OC20 plans delivered from Carla !
  4. Will go for the OC20. Have ordered the plans from Carla few days ago, hope to receive them soon so that I'll have something new to think ( or worry ) about !!! Will start a new tread for this build .
  5. terywil so we have something in common I guess ! Your marissa is taking shape and is looking great, keep up the nice job ! I was thinking about the oc20 before I started my marissa but thought it was too big for me as I was looking for a 16 ft boat. Seams like there is not much videos of them but ! I just found one of a oc24 Rouge build by Miyot. He have done a wonderful job.
  6. Hello every body, After having ( and still having ) great time with Marissa ( Piranha ) I am thinking of building an other of Graham's boat. Start believing that boat building is an addiction The all new 256 is stunning but its too big for me !. Still not decided if I will go for the OC20 or OC24. The OC24 is still big but have that extra freeboard that I like so much ! Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated . By the way , are there any videos of those boats , especially in rough water ? I have seen lots of builds in this forum but dont know how they perform in water. Best Regards, Lotus
  7. Hi Graham, Hope you are all fine . Thanks for your designs, help, and patience for answering my questions especially when I decided to do some modifications, yes last summer was a great fishing summer and have landed some nice fish. The best one was a +10kg albacore tuna !! Now I'm practicing slow jigging and vertical jigging but not so lucky yet . BTW that Ocracoke 256 is driving me crazy
  8. Bigeaux20 if you are ditermend to build this boat ,some day it will be done ! . I you dedicate a couple of hours a day soon you will see her floating !! and I can assure you that these 2 hours will be the most satisfying of the day even more if you involve your family in this project . Working on something you like to do most is not work but relaxation and its satisfaction is immeasurable !! If you want to build a boat just because you want a boat than that is a different story. In this case I wont recommend to start this type of projects because i fear it will never be ended ! GOOD LUCK to you and to every boat builder dreamer
  9. Hi Bigeaux20, yes you are right , I have to cut each and every panel. As is write in my tread I received the plans and started my project on May 2014 and her first swim was on March 2015. But whats the point of how fast and quick one do something is important ?? As long as you are enjoying doing something right and that you love doing it doesn't matter how long it takes to complete , right !! I can say that last year I spent lot and lot of hours working or more playing on this project that turned out relay nice and I'm very satisfied with this boat !!
  10. Hi Matt, I think you can custom build your Marissa according to your needs . Take a look to my Marissa named Piranha http://messing-about.com/forums/topic/9269-marissa-eco-18-went-to-europe-photos-of-build/
  11. The first fish landed on my Piranha ( marissa) boat and my first fish caught offshore ! . Albacore tuna 5.3 kg 12 miles offshore
  12. These are the pistons inside the sx smart tabs , not stainless and assembled in korea !!!!!!!!
  13. Hi Mike , I noticed that problem too, but not as much as you said . Perhaps because of a bigger motor and the position of my console. I used the same smart tabs you mentioned and now she is more than perfect. With 3 people on board she can cruse down to 10 knots on plain easily. The down side of these smart tabs is that the (spring ) gas loaded cylinder inside the rubber cover is not stainless steel and it will rust shortly . They may be SMART tabs but the one who made them is not SMART at all !!!!
  14. Well done Mike !! Hope you will have great time with it !! Any name yet ??
  15. Hi Dan , welcome onboard !! I have finished my marissa ( Piranha ) recently and she is giving me a great pleasure time !! I have made some alterations to the boat that made it more unique and better for my needs and our blue waters . Some one have already posted a link to my tread hear . Its named Marissa (eco 18) went to Europe !! photos of buildThis might be of A great help because you can find all the photos at every step of the build . Good luck and just ask for any help ! LOTUS
  16. T top sanded , sprayed and installed. Next is its upholstery Think will go for bage as fabric colour
  17. Thanks Jay Lancaster, realy appreciate. Did you refear to some brackets that reinforce the up rights to the top ?. Is it better in this photo ?
  18. What do you think ? Have I ruined her lines or not ?? I am still confused about these type of shades !
  19. Super nice !! Well done
  20. Seems like you have really nice places out there . We have only the open blue sea around us and no lakes ! Small Maltese islands !!
  21. In fact at high speed the reading fluctuates as there will be lots of turbulence , but what's the use of scanning the bottom at high speeds !? The reason I put the transducer there is because at that point it will offer the minimum resistance to the water at speeds
  22. Thanks Designer Graham. I really appreciate such words, especially from the designer himself ! THANKS AGAIN GRAHAM especially for your great and super efficient designs. Hope that some day I will built another boat from your drawing board ( somthing in my mind is telling me that the Ocracoke 24 is more challenging to built ) but for this time I will enjoy my Piranha ( Marissa )
