Ken Conners: I think I like your idea best through bolt with epoxy around it. that is the way I did my drain plug ect. drilled the hole 1/2 " to big fill the hole with epoxy and redrilled it to size. now I will have to figure out a way to stand the boat up on it's end so I won't get any air bubbles in it. Kydocfrog: If you can't find a solid ring i bolt you might try your local power board line crew. ask if they would let you have a through bolt with an eye nut and two square washers. Y'ALL COME Cap'N Bud

Hello All. Has anybody got any hot tips on a boom crutch? I am going to build something to lay my mast and boom on. I thought I would try to build something that looked a little better than the fold up plastic saw horse I am using now. Y'ALL COME Cap'N Bud.

Umop_apisdn : Next time out try the dead end to your boom first then to the block on the side,back to the block on the boom then to the block on the other side. It only takes a min. to rig it and if you don't like it no longer to unrig. Y'ALL COME Cap'N Bud.

I have the dead end tied off to the boom running down to a single block that I have mounted on a I bolt with a spring so it will stand up back up to the block on the boom down to the block on the other side mounted to a swivel cam base. I made it clear as mud didn't I anyway I like this set up. I thought the horse got it's name because it looks like a saw horse from back of the boat. Y'ALL COME Cap'N Bud.

JeffM The P/C has about the same boat speed as the weekender,being it is a good bit wider it has more cockpit and cabin space. If you notice I made my hatches removable and extended the hatch so I can walk all the way up to the mast in the cabin. The boards don't go any deeper than a standard rudder in the water and can be raises some in shallow water if needed. I put both boards down when I get in the boat and try to remember to raise them before I put the boat on the trailor. The boards down make it hard to load. The P/C is a big little boat,and a real plesure to me. Y'ALL COME Cap'N Bud.

Adla I know about the hustle and bussle trying to get ready to lanch it's a bitch, but the trip to the islands looks VERY VERY tiring sure glad I didn't have to do that. I have a double block on my boom but I riged a horse on my boom I forgot how yours is set up. I used Hawkins blocks on Magnolia I ordered for a place in Maryland Bacon & asso. www.baconsails.com All I know about the battery is check it occasionly and if it's low put it on the slow charge charger. Craig: WE sure missed you at the messabout, but we all understand family comes first. Everyone seamed to have a good time and Ken did a great job with the pictures. The cristing went fine I put a Alabama quarter in Magnolia mast box for the money ( two dimes and a nickle glued togather) poured a drink of good whiskey on the bow and my wife being a tree huger wouldn't break the champaign so she opened it and poured it on. I'm not telling where I got yhe virgen pea but I put it on with an eye droper (it is very hard to come buy) Sure hope Y'all can come to the next one I will post when and where in advance so everyone will have plenty of time. Craig Come on up. Bring money gas was 3.00 a gallon yesterday but we haven't had any shortages of gas just shortages of money for gas. Get ready and come on we will find you gas to get home on even if we have to use a Georgia credit card. For those that don't know what a Ga.credit card is it is a 6 ft. garden hose and a 5 gal. can. The weather has cooled a little here already in the 80 during the day and high 60 at nite a couple more weeks I think it is going to be just wright for a nice weekend. um I can smell that hog cooking now. JeffM I can make a suggestion about those disk, as I have made some of them myself even one with a new paint brush in it. First leave your shop unlocked and unatended for a hour or two. Go to the hardware store or to get a beer any thing like that taking the disk with you in a trash bag. Throw the disk in a dumpster and return to the shop when you return wait a few min. and descover the disk are gone. Then reise caine about some one being in your shop and getting your disk that you have spent all that time and money on. Works for me Y'ALL COME Cap'N Bud. :wink:

The Mr Moon South East messabout was a great success. I took my mini cat Pearl and several had a try at her, light winds 5 to10 knots beautiful day. I put a pork sholder on the smoker in the am and smoked it all day 8hr.we had for the evening meal. Every thing turned out real nice and I think everyone had a good time. THANK YOU MR. MOON.
