That is awesome! Anxious to see pictures of it under sail. Are you going to paint it and if so what will you use? I have an old aluminum boat I want to paint. I do not know what works best on aluminum for primer and top coat. Great looking work on the boat.

Please provide photos and some details. I have the plans and plan on building the Weekender but I keep going back and looking at the CS17 and CS20. Beautiful boats. Maybe I will live long enough to build both.

Do you have a rough estimate of what it will cost to build a Princess 22? She is looking great, buy the way.

Congrads. You are right it is awesome. The only trouble with those little critters is you turn around and they are grown up and gone. Than here you sit, reading a forum everyday thinking about a boat...

The only concern I would have with sliding doors, is the old something being stored inside fall or slides so it blocks the area the door would slide to and oops, the door won't slide open. Coarse if there are two doors, I guess you open the other one and reach and move to object out of the way (if you can reach it). Maybe I am way off base and not picturing what you are talking about correctly.

I can't stay out of this one.. My son flys the F-18 Superhornet in the Navy. Last year he spent part of his time going to air shows all over the states doing the Legacy flight demos (he flew in formation with old war birds). What a year he had. He got to actually fly some of the old birds including one of the old bombers I can't remember which - B-24 , B-17. If any of you here in the Northwest went to the Whidbey Island air show he flew there. He got us into a private "old war bird" fly in barbeque held in Calif., there were at least 20+ P-51's there alone, and all kinds of other old birds. He got us into the Reno Air Races, with tarmac passes, pit passes the works. I LOVE HIS NAVY CAREER. Coarse there is always a down side, he is now bobbing around off the coast of North Korea, on the USS Carl Vincant. They just extended the cruse, until November, that will put him out there 11 months. Oh, he also got to do most of the flying of the F-18 in the show "Behind Enemy Lines". Many hours of flying turned in to about 30 seconds movie time.

That is so neat. I think you need to put this boat in a big glass case and build another one to sail. I have thought I would put a figure head on my boat when I build it. I want one of a lady with those big "what do you call its" on her like was on the old ships. Tell you mom she can be proud. That is a beautiful job.

Don't tell people how wonderful WA is. It is already too populated. Calif. is great, stay there, please Or, come to my side of the mountain first, you won't think it is so beautiful. Holy cow! Got up this morning and there was frost out there! Two days ago it was 78'

Man oh man! That is and is going to be beautiful. Did you tell in the forum somewhere what you did the copper bottom with? I search but wasn't able to find it in a posting. Please keep the pictures coming what, an inspiration. There needs to be a "Hall of Fame" site where all the finished boats are pictured with the pertinent information (maybe there is and I just don't know it).

Has anyone ever used that paint that already has the rough stuff in it? I see it at Lowe's, it is for around swimming pools and decks. Comes in all colors.

Boy, the northwesterners sure build some BEAUTIFUL ships. That is outstanding.

This looks like a place to insert a question I have been wanting to ask. Has anyone used Gorilla Glue on their boats? It is too expensive to use extensivly, but would it be good for the rub rail joints? Is it as strong as they claim? I used it to put together my ships wheel but I don't know how it will hold up. It is doing fine hanging on my wall!

I'd say it is looking real nice. Seems like more builders are squaring off the front of the cabin. At first, I didn't think I liked the look as much as the round but the more I look at it the more I like it. I just can't afford to build right now but I let my brother see some of the pictures of the boats recently and boy is he excited. Maybe I will get to help him, learn from all his mistakes and than I will be able to build one. Keep up the good work is is look'n good.

Beautiful, beautiful boat. I am not a sailor, but a wanta-be. I have to ask what does the "CS" stand for in cs-17? I assume the 17 is associated with the length of the boat. Nice work, makes me want to build just to see if I can get in the same woodworking league of some of you guys.

For what it is worth, there is a pretty good list of pages in the index of the book "Encyclopedia of Knots and Fancy Rope Work" on fenders. I found it at amazon.com, you can look at excerts from the book and get a general idea about the book. I think the book is about $24. With shipping and taxes you might get it for under $100.

What has happened to the Snupi Weekender project. Seems like I haven't heard anything about it for months. Hope nothing bad has happened. :?:

Who wants to take bets Capt Jake won't be able to wait that long to launch. As beautiful as that boat is on the trailer, think how much more beautiful it will look out there in the glorious Pudget Sound. I sure hope that sometime when I am over in Bremerton visiting my son you will let us arrange some way of seeing the boat in person. Absolutely Beautiful!

Welcome aboard Jim. If you live in Sequim, you live real close to paradise. I have a cousin that lives there, well in a little town attached to Sequim. Anyway, it sure is a lot prettier there than my side of WA although the desert does have it beauty for a short period this time of the year.

And I was thinking about posting a picture of the wheel I made! No way! I can't compete with this one. Beautiful! :shock:

You won't see it on TV but our little town of Kennewick, WA. (Tri-Cities, WA) had a support the troops rally today. It was heartening. I would say 1 to 2 thousand showed up and many more drove by Honking and waving flags. I know this went on in many towns across the US but like I say you won't see it on the news. GOD BLESS THEM (the troops)
