I have better than 125 hours in my new build and it don't really look like a boat yet.

I built a spindrift 10n in that amount of time and had my Belhaven well on the way with this much effort.

I know it's two differant building methods, but I am starting to miss the plywood in a serious way.

I made another 140 scarfs tonight on the 10 foot cypress strips and it looks like the pile to go is growing not going away.

I have respect for all Peter has done on his P28.

I guess I'll keep scarfing along and maybe it will be a boat one day.

Stick with it Scott - Stripping's only the beginning. Remember that you'll probably only spend the same amount of time sanding this one as you did sanding the spindrift

I've also talked to Graham about plans for a Princess 28, but I'm going the conventional plywood, hard chine route. Instant boat? Not exactly, but it should go much faster than one of the strip built boats. At least until the hull is ready to turn.

BTW, I've been down to see Peter's build (after you look up exquisite, go to a thesaurus for similar adjectives......they all apply).......and would like to drive down to see Scott's build in progress too, as he still has the frames and jigs in place. I'll need to do the same thing.

Scott.....I'm about 6 hours from Evansville, which I assume puts me in the neighborhood? If you don't object, send me a PM and we can work out a time. Unless it's a weekend, it may be a month or so before I'm free.

Howard you would be quite welcome, I believe this coming weekend is the only one in the near future that I won't be around.

I have also got to walk through Peters 28. In fact the reason I am in this pain is mostly his fault. After seeing his build, that just threw me over the line and I made a solid commentment to build a strip boat. When I sold my Belhaven there was no turning back.

Ken I love to sand , it's the only thing I'm good at. Besides getting in trouble with my wife.

Peter I am dreading the part of the build where I have to bore that hole for the shaft log and lining up the Beta.

actually most bots can easily convert that into an email address... If you want someone to email you, I highly suggest PMing your email address.

Most times creepers will get your email by hacking into the database vs parsing all the webpages, as security on 99% of the websites out there is ABYSMAL. And that hacking into the database can't be protected against by users, unless you sign up with a temporary email address.
