Myself, I was an ensign and that translated into commissioned officer (above warrant officer); quite nice actually. Now I am in serious doubt about the whole thing. I found that I had been demoted to pogy bait, which means inexperienced or immature sailor You know, even if it might be right (since you can always learn more) it is hard to get it thrown in your face in public!! :shock: Is there a way of bribing the Rear Admiral (or may be it is the Front Admiral or Page Admiral or Frank Admirable) to have a more flattering title allocated permanently :?: :?: :idea: Quote

But to be called a landlubber, just because I'm kind of quiet and don't post a lot is really embarrasing. :oops: That's really a term of derision in the Navy. I am still telling my wife I deserve to be promoted from dish duty and toliet cleaning. She says work a little harder, and she will review my qualifications at the end of the year. .. We all start over here, NO class envy, no richman, poorman, just we all start at the bilge, Some just got a promotion quicker. Bought as good splaining as I can come up with. Cleaned a lot of them in the past so I guess if it is related it probably fits. But I would technically qualify as a Shellback from life experience. 8) Quote

Malts, candy, chips etc. Gedunk - is a place to find poggy bait, most pxs, or ships have a gedunk. Sometimes gedunk can be items purchased at a gedunk. I've not heard the term Gedunk Gofer, I assume it is someone who frequents a gedunk. Quote
