Gregg Posted July 27, 2008 Posted July 27, 2008 Temptress is launched at Deam lake in southern IN. She did fine floated straight no leaks. I did however have some trouble. The motor stopped, poor wiring on my part. I repaired that this morning. And my jib line was twisting and causing me tacking problems. The rope I am using is from R&W rigging, it is a synthetic hemp. Looks great on the boat but I may change that one line so it can run through the blocks easier. This was my wife's first real sailing experience, although we had some problems I think she may go out with me again. And "Temptress" is a great name for a Weekender; I've always thought that the Weekender seduced its builders with its great looks. You are a brave man for taking your wife on her first trip sailing on a new boat you built yourself! I did the same thing, although it was my first time sailing too. You'll probably have a few things to fix and adjust the first few times out. I think that's pretty typical of every boat builder! Quote
