Charlie Jones Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 Got a whole new shop done here at the house. We poured the slab on Nov 23rd, and I started working in it on Monday. It's already got furniture stacked up waiting to be fixed, and a boat (Core Sound 17) sitting under a leanto ready to come in , once I get the hull sanded, which I'm doing OUTSIDE. After I finish emptying the old shop, and having a mother of a garage sale, no more 38 miles commute each way for me- now my commute will be 20 feet- from my back door. John Kinnane Posted January 7, 2006 Posted January 7, 2006 I made myself a plywood cutting frame as I get closer to starting the Belhaven. Its out of approx 20 construction ply and while the individual joints are sloppy it is very rigid assembled. Approx 2000mm x 1000mm. And Scott it is a 'Tasmanian Devil' and they are under a big threat to their survival. There is a cancer type virus attacking them and I believe about 65% have or will die from it at this stage. As I have said before, my shop/garage is 18'X10' and does not leave a lot of extra room for the CS17 I am building in it. I would not recommend anyone build a 17 with this size shop. Now that I have my wife through college and working I'm planning on taking my companys 30 and out retirement option. The first project will be ether a garage built on the house (wifes wish) or a new woodshop. I think I'll win this one, just because of the honeydo furniture projects she'd like to have. I've got furniture finished already, because I am able to go out after supper and work a bit more. Plus I'm REALLY looking forward to getting some of MY projects done now that I don't have to spend an hour and a half drive time to GET to the shop and return. Like I want two different sets of oars that I've just not had time for. Maybe now I can built them. And then there's that Birder I've been wanting for several years now. and then....... Quote
