Dave R1 Posted October 14, 2005 Posted October 14, 2005 Bud, I did a wooden sawhorse sort of thing that sits on the seats. I made it from lumber from the building dolly when I was finished with it. I milled all the 2x lumber down and it looks pretty nice. Is that something you'd be interested in? Quote
Tony Pratt Posted October 14, 2005 Posted October 14, 2005 Hellow Bud, I made my boom crutch out of three quarter inch piece of plywood it is 1 foot wide by 3 feet tall with a half circle cut out of the bottom side of the plywood and it sits behind the gap on the steering and lazeret. The plywood sits ontop of the steering wheel shaft with the half circle cut out so it doesnt slide from side to side. the top is cut out like a U to hold the mast when its down. waynemunro Posted October 24, 2005 Posted October 24, 2005 Hi Bud, Having not had a boom crutch last year, I recently whipped on eup from some scrap treated pine I had floating around. mine open witha scossor type action, with a strap across the bottom to limit opening, and it is small enough to fit into the locker under the seat. capt jake Posted October 24, 2005 Posted October 24, 2005 I don't think that I have any pictures of my boom crutch but it is very simple. A solid piece of Mahogany with a small cleat on the base. The cleat slips under the taffrail. I tie it in place with webbing. Small enough that it stowes easily. found it. Quote
