Belhaven in primer

I got my paint issue resolved. I called Kirbys this morning and they mixed two quarts of the semi gloss yellow I have been looking for. At a very reasonable price of $45 including shipping.

Here are a few pictures of her in her last coat of primer. All is needed is a final hand sanding before painting.

I painted 1/4 inch under where the rub rail will be.

The transom ply is going to be the prettiest part of the boat. Hope the back of the cabin turns out as good as the transom. I picked the best pieces for those parts before I cut any of the boat out.

The boat looks terrific Scott. I really like the look of the Meranti... gorgeous grain and color. Looks like you're doing really oustanding work.

Its really looking good. On Sunday I search back thru the forum to see your complete build. Its been a long haul but the result looks to be worth the work.

One small request. Can you get a picture with you standing next to the boat? Besides want to see your grin, I would like to get a sense of scale. Just how high are those tabernacles etc.

As for the height of the tabernacles, I have a low ceiling height in my shop of around 7 foot 2 inchs. The bottom of the dead wood is 9 1/2 inchs off the floor as she sets in her cradle.

Yes I will spray the paint. I have a cheap gun but it does a good job if I do my part. usually as long as I shoot several thin coats I get by pretty good.

I guess most people finish the whole hull then prime and paint. But I have found that if I break the boat up into small jobs, I actually get more done.

:roll: I think is is a motivational tool for me. Something about get one area done and standing back and looking at it then moving on to the next.

Sometimes I get sick of working on a area and just come back later. That happened on the cockpit. I know that is the place we will spend most of our sailing time and I want it right. That kind wore me down a bit so I moved on to glassing the deck and painting the hull sides.

But I will return to the cockpit today while I am waiting for the kirbys to arrive.

Oh yea a picture of me standing next to my boat!! :shock: That would be cruel and unusual punishment for the forum community.
