Then one day, after a long long time, the boat meets the water. And yes, it's great, it's sweet, well balanced, stable and - at the same time - vivid in light airs. All this and pretty, too. Absolutely positive first impressions. Graham, thanks for the great boat the CS 17 is! One day I'll post better pics. For now that's it:

Hi Ricardo, congratulations, I am so glad that you have launched her and that you are enjoying her. Touch'e certainly looks nice. This is our first CS17 sailing in Brazil.

I notice that you have more than adequate headroom under the mizzen. This came about because of the different sail configurations needing different lengths of the masts above the sail. I like to bring the sails down as low as I can by trimming the mast length to just have adequate headroom under them. This reduces heeling forces on the boat and reduces the load on the masts.

Before you do cut one or both off at the bottom, check that both will fit in the third hole where you cut them ie I have a biggish downhaul cleat on the main and it is too low to allow the main mast to go in the middle hole and reach the cockpit floor...

Graham and Rob, I'm not going to cut the mizzen mast down cause I have a very young crew member that will probably be up and down the cockpit, non-stop, while we try to sail.
