Privacy issue on an open boat with a mixed crew?

I just sent for the CS20 plans. This will be my first attempt at building a boat. I was going to try something smaller, but when finished, anything smaller would not be enough boat for me. My sailing experience has all been in keelboats with cabins, so I have a question. Most of the time I expect to be sailing by myself, but I have a wife, daughter, daughter-in-law, two 13 year old grand daughters, one 7 year old grand son and one 5 year old grand daughter. At some point, some or all of these will be sailing with me. On an open boat like the CS20 with a mixed crew, how do you handle the privacy issue with the john?

The solutions I've seen usually include something like a poncho. It helps to look at the horizon rather than at your shipmate's faces.

Except for winter times, most go for a little swim along the shoreline. But Frank has a good idea with the rainlocker approach.

Not truley an answer to you question but we have a rule on our boat, the first one to use the pot has to empty it. Well into our second season the porta pottie has never been used.

I can't help you with your privacy issue.

But I wanted to say we love your town of Southport. There is a open pier type restaurant on the waterway that we go to about every day we are there. The name slips me at the moment and we have been there twenty times.

Anyway We have good friends that live on Oak Island and we try to visit them at least everyother year.

If you build your Coresound we would love to see it sometime. I am planning to bring our Belhaven to Oak Island and to visit Graham next June. If your building then maybe we can get together for lunch or something.

Yes, we love this area also. Possibly getting together for lunch sounds good, except that I am starting a new job over in North Alabama before the end of this year. The new job will allow me to have 3 days off every weekend. I am planning on using the CS20 as a project to keep me busy on my off time since the wife will be staying here. I am hoping to spend about 16 hours every weekend working on the CS20 and hope to have it finished within 9 months. But since this will be my first boat, I don't have anything to based that on.
