Single Skull Design

Hi All

I'm looking (in the future) at building a 'racing skull' for my wife (she hates sailing, but loves competitive rowing)

Does anyonee know of a design I can build from? I've seen plenty of kayaks and canoes, but it seems hard to find any 'quick' designs that incorporate the outriggers for the oars.

Any help will be greatly appreciated

I have plans from old magazines that you might be able to adapt. Both of these are from old Mechanix Illustrated magazines, with just a few pages of text and pictures in .jpg format. You might not want to make these your first boat building project, but I think if you have a boat already built, you could adapt these to modern methods.

"Pod" is a simple rowing scull, while RS_Dory is a dory style hull.

'POD" is basically a copy of Bolger's "Glouchester Light Dory" for which plans are available (and a book on how to build) from Dynamite Payson's website.

But I don't think either boat fits the bill of a "racing scull"

Sure wish I could have made that. That was on OUR bay, we were supposed to attend, and I had hoped to meet Welsford.

Ah well- I was pouring a keel instead
