Frank Hagan Posted October 14, 2003 Posted October 14, 2003 Not really mine, but the owner of this 1961 55' Chris Craft Constellation emailed to say he liked the site, but thought our "Recommended Tools" list was lacking a 1/3 sheet sander, and questioned our inclusion of a belt sander. If I owned that boat, anyone coming within 300' with a belt sander would be shot! What a beauty. "if you have to ask 'how much,' then you can't afford it!" I'd just like to score some of the wood from one being dismantled, and I've often thought of taking an old wooden boat (which you can sometimes get free) and taking it apart. But with my luck, I'd get one full of rot (or my wife would find out before I actually got it home). Quote

One of the manufacturers reps. had one in Detroit taking dealers out on two day cruises with it. Great PR and one really nice yacht. I thought that was about the end of the world as far as great was at the time, that is until I got to the east coast and saw some of the real yachts. Still, it would be great to see them preserved and brought back to use. Quote
