Hi all; After four years building I am putting the finishing touches on my Weekender. Though I have been pretty much a silent viewer, I am very appreciative of the help I have received from this forum. So thanks! My question has to do with the vehicle I would like to used to pull the boat across the country, a couple thousand miles. I have a good trailer though slightly longer than it need be. I hope to be able to use my 2000 fwd Town and Country Minivan. It has a 3.8 L engine and according to the specs seems to be OK. Living in ranch country (Montana) where everyone drives a pickup or SUV, people are skeptical about my van. I do notice that when I hook the trailer to the hitch, the rear end goes down an inch or two. The tongue weight is 225 lbs. The boat seems reasonably well balanced on the trailer. Any thoughts? Thanks.

To Dave R1; This is a pretty old topic but I have a question concerning the set up you have pictured for routing the peak and throat halyards via the blocks located on the forward part of the cabin roof. It looks to me that when going downwind with the mainsail let pretty far out that the boom would be impeded by the halyards. Is this a problem? I appreciate all the help I have received from you and others in building my Weekender as I come close, I think, to the finish line. Thanks!

I am having trouble determining how the boom pulleys for the main sheet are attached to the boom. I have a solid wood boom as in the plans. Thanks for any advice. Hewes

I am planning to keep my Weekender on a permanent mooring on a fairly well protected lake in about 15 feet of water. Bottom rocky with some mud and grass. Need ideas for a proper mooring. Probably has been discussed but cannot find on forum. Thanks for any suggestions. .

I am starting to finish my Weekender and it would work out to fibreglass the deck prior to turning boat over. (Not paint) I cannot think of any reason why this would be a problem, but wanted to check with the experts. Also, Some of the sites referenced in the forum discussion are forbidden to me.
