Dave R1 Posted June 1, 2003 Posted June 1, 2003 Yesterday, Lake Nokomis, a small lake in Minneapolis saw the launching of two new Skipjacks and a kayak. In addition, there were two Weekenders on hand. Bill Paxton brought SURPRISE and Chris Pesklo brought his RESOLUTE. Perhaps Bill will flesh out the story. I should have pictures posted tomorrow and if someone has some server space for it, I could post a few minutes of video. Quote
Frank Hagan Posted June 1, 2003 Posted June 1, 2003 You can upload video into the Gallery, as long as it is less than 1mb in size (I just enabled the feature this morning). We can't extract a thumbnail for it, so you can either extract one yourself and upload it (the Gallery asks after its uploaded for a thumbnail pic) or it will just have a small graphic that says "Video". Bill Paxton Posted June 2, 2003 Posted June 2, 2003 The pictures will save a thousand words. Dave did a great job of capturing the event with his photos. It was very special to witness the launching of three home-built boats. The joy meter was pegged on the high end. I'd never seen a Skipjack before, and once again I'm impressed by the Stevensons' design skills. What a handsome and handy boat. We had so much fun that we thought we'd "organize" another messabout on August 23 here in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area. I know of three Weekenders (and maybe two more) and two Skipjacks in our area. It would be a blast to get all these gaffers on the water at once. But the more the merrier. So you're all welcome to join us in August. I'll post more about that as we get closer to the date. Quote
