oh Barry I needed you this weekend! I actually installed a new SS sink and removed an old cast iron one... I had so may ?'s ...but it seemed to work out in the end...no leaks so far...in future we want to redo our kitchen (after boat is done) lol

ss screws and douglas fir stringers

how come it seems it is much harder to screw in the side panels? I am having trouble stripping heads and unable to completely sink the screws even with pilot hole...any tricks?

is it better to set the maximum size allowed pic on the cam settings or resize them later?

I actually ended up using the original...pulled down nice...I could not get the deck- top lazarette stringer to take, so after braking three, I ended up using 3" pieces placed the width of the lazarette front back. then with cargo strap bent laz and attached it with little problem all by myself!

i recut a taller one...now i might try my original one first...did you cut out the access hloe prior to attaching? will weaken it fraid it will break if hole cut out first.

I was thinking...I do have another complete keel and stem...I made another seeking perfection..(ha ha) could I somehow cut off at the stem/keel joint and afixx it to the current one?

ok i have been in denial about the warp of my second keel... it seems when I placed all the clamps on it to keep the edges together it would not lie on the ground...I suspect this imparted my warp as it appears to be worse from the stem up. ]So I could (with sig aggrevation) some how replace it (bottm and transom already attached). In the long run will it really matter? My concern is how will I know where the center line should be to line the deck center line up with cuz its crooked can I send a photo to someone to post?

DVD would be awesome...my tape 1 is wearing thin. as for the bloopers, my entire project seems to be one! lol can we upgrade to DVD too?

hmmm, let me rephrase that, I have in my garage what appears to be the makings of a sailboat, I did build a cedar strip canoe (Mac McCarthys Wee Lassie) last winter and could eventually figure out the scarfing concept, but earlier post referred to its failure, hence the long wood search. My prior woodworking experience was sharpening a pencil. take home message...anyone contemplating this project should know that even my premastbox angle came out to be 93 degrees... so jump right in...the hardest part for me was just starting and keeping up the momentum. These boards provide hours of inspiration.

thanks... just a rookie and want to inquire prior to making any avoidable mistakes...so intensely following the plans I often forget the big picture. But I am having a blast building!

clarification... wondering if the smaller size rails from one 1x6 would have structural implications... I was thinking they were a part of the "box" structure, if the size was important then I'll need to buy two.(@$54)

i have found 16' 1x6 clear mahogany (all other widths are <12') will i need two or can i downsize them? The scafing seems beyond my ability.
