How do you transport your rudder?

I am looking for a slick way to transport my rudder and leave it with the boat when stored. I have crutches for the mast and sprits, had the sails made with vertical battens so that I can leave the sails on the mast and have simplified everything as much as possible but still find myself looking for somewhere to carry the rudder assembly. Now I just wrap it in a movers blanket and shlep it around, not very elegant and I am bound to leave it somewhere some day.

On my BHaven, as pintail and gudgeon bolted, both Scott and I just leave it in place and make sure uphaul is in good shape.  Been towed many K miles. Guess could also remove the pivot bolt and just stow the blade for long trips.  On the BRS15 I just removed it and padded it with split big swim noodles and slipped it under the thwarts with bag of gear to weight it down, or put it in the van.  R

I leave it on and rely on the uphaul. A split pin retains the pintle.

On larger trailer boats in the past I've drilled a hole through an appropriately thick part of the rudder box and rudder when in the up position and put a stainless bolt through to hold the rudder up.

Remember to remove before launching

I came to see your Coresound 17 some time ago and have decided to go with the Cs17 myself. You spoke about the difficulty in getting the material for your masts. I have been calling around to try and locate suitable material for my masts with no luck. Can you please tell me what you used and where you bought them from. Thanks.
