Couple things I've been playing with the last couple days. First I found a site on the internet that showed how to make a floation bag using the soldering gun to seal the seams. I decided to give it a try. I had this large plastic bad that is pretty heavy stuff. I made a tip for the soldering gun out of the 10 gauge copper wire because I figure the roun wire would work better than the sharper standard pointed tip. Layed masking tape where I wanted to have a seam and went for it. The instructions said it to a little practice but it was pretty easy. When I got the seams made I turned the bag inside out so it would have a nice looking seam. I filled it with water to see if there were leaks. I had two minor leaks in the in the seam, that would be easy to fix. Unfortunaetly the bag itself had some holes in it I didn't know about. I need to find the website again to figure out how he made a valve wuth a water bottle cap.

Second I received Jeff's permission to play with attach one of his propoaed T-shirt pictures to my kayak via decal to see if I could. I made the picture the size I wanted, printed it on decal paper. I sprayed the decal with Crystal Clear Acrylic (this keeps the ink from rubbing off) and let it dry. Put the decal on the kayak. When it is real dry, like tomorrow I well varnish over it with the ZAR to protect. Time well tell how it hold up, but my bet is it well.

They sell something like that in grocery stores now for use as a screw top for plastic bags. Might be worth a try.

Just for kicks I added this this evening. I haven't varnished over it yet. This is the kind of labels I have wanted to make. I figured out how to get by with Photoscape.

I like that. I only have one problem, that little NRS valve costs $.50 with almost $8. shipping!!! I wish I could find a sight that sells the valve and HH-66 glue also so I could make it worth my while to order. Can't get either one where I live. Maybe the next time I get to a city I can find so business that carries those products.
