Kudzu Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 Sprained ankle and bruise on my hip, probably from the keys in my pocket. On at least one crutch for a few days. Considering I fell off the roof of a house and landed on a brick patio, I feel might blessed! BTW, I HATE metal roofs! Quote

woodman Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 Ouch last time I spraind an ankle I was skateboarding ramps back in the 70's.... You would hate the metal roof we put on my daughters house 80' long 6-12 pitch with a 23' run...it took 3 of us a while last summer... Quote

I work part time as a Home Inspector and I would have never been on your roof! Way to steep being metal. I will never walk another metal roof after yesterday. This was a very low pitch but it was covered in pollen. I hesitated and should have listened to that inner voice, but it was such a low pitch I never expected to slip. WRONG! It was like a freshly waxed kids slide. Never stood a chance. I am just amazed I was not hurt any worse. Not even sore this morning except for the ankle. I am a blessed man! Quote

A few years ago, I thought it would be a good idea to get the Christmas lights on the second story eaves, and called a housepainter friend, who was very casual about walking rooftops. Wasn't a year later he went off a roof and broke his back. That recovery took a good, long time. I'm glad you weren't hurt worse. Quote
