Denis Goyette Posted April 10, 2003 Posted April 10, 2003 What would be the minimum allowable temperature for the glue to dry? Because I am just about going 3D and the dinning room is getting too small for that(beside my wife would eventually say something ) I have to take building to the garage and the weaterman is calling for 52 to 55 F this weekend. Will this weather affect the glue curing time? Thanks for the info. Denis Quote

Barry Pyeatt Posted April 10, 2003 Posted April 10, 2003 Denis, If you are using Dap/Weldwood Urea Resin it is pretty fussy as far as temps are concerned. Really should be above 65 degrees Farenheit. Typically around 70-75 will give the best cure rate. If it is epoxy, then a faster hardner will probably be satisfactory at 55-60 degrees. If you have a portable heater, you can tarp over the parts being assembled and keep the heater on in the space and keep the temp up for 12-24 hours to allow it to cure completly. However if it is outside, that is a problem. Quote
