CS 17 motor mount for Honda 2 hp SHORT shaft

I just bought a second hand never used SHORT SHAFT Honda 2 hp at a price that I could not resist.  I was planning to buy a long shaft with the idea of hang it on the transom.  Now I AM LOOKING FOR THE BEST WAY TO MOUNT MY SHORT SHAFT 2 HP HONDA ON MY CS 17. By researching the Forum I found the following:

On March 7, 2005 Rob Blackburn published a link of some pictures (http://homepage.mac.com/b...ditions/PhotoAlbum97.html) but I am unable to open the link.  Will Bob be so kind to refresh the link.

On February 24, 2005 Tim TITAN wrote:  "When I build my motor-mount I will post some pictures..." but I am unable to find them.  Tim, if you have the pictures will you please publish them in the Forum.

On April 6, 2008 "wkisting" published drawing of his motor mount idea.  If you have pictures of the finish mount please publish them in the Forum?

I would like to place the motor in such a way to avoid that the sprit lines hang in it as I plan to have the motor mount all the time while sailing.

All ideas, suggestions and advice will be appreciated.

I have a 2hp yamaha 2 stroke which is one of the smallest and lightest motors available here, but the shaft is also quite short. I didn't want to cut the transom that low so went with a purchased adjustable outboard bracket. It certainly will get it low enough and lifts high out of the water and will probably leave the mizzen sheet a clear run. It does put the weight out a little further aft.

Hi Orlandi,

My mount isn't installed yet (still being fabricated), but I'll certainly post some pictures when it's finished. Should be within the next four weeks, unless the fabrication gets further delayed. Also, I've modified the drawings in order to give me more "wiggle room" when mounting the plate, and I beefed up a few elements of the design. I'll be sure to let everyone know how it turns out.
