What happend to Stevenson Projects? Where can i get weekender plans?

I would love to build a weekender, but I have been unsuccessful in getting plans from Stevenson Projects.  I ordered plans and the DVD about a month ago; paid via paypal and I have not received anything nor heard anything from them. Their number has been disconnected and any attempts I have made to email them have been returned due to a full mailbox on their end.  Does anyone know what happened?  And where I can get plans for the weekender? I have filed claim with paypal and have heard no response from Stevenson Projects. I would be willing to buy someone

The Stevenson are hard to reach from time to time but have aways been honest although slow some times in the past. If you decide that you need Weekender plans and do not want to wait I have a set that I purchased and did not build from and would be willing to sell them to you. I ended up building a Vacationer instead. Send me a private email and we can work out the details.

They use to be very responsive but in the last couple of years have gotten to where they do not respond at all to emails.  Now that their phone is also disconnected is a worry.  They just completed the new DVD a couple of months ago too.  I hope they straighten out whatever is causing the problems with poor/non-existent communications. :-\

Incidently, I have a Vacationer plan set which I purchased from Stevenon's several years ago but then decided not to build it.  If anyone is interested I would be happy to sell it at my cost.

Hey Greg if you still have those plans and video vhs? I would like to purchase them from you. When I got my weekender plans early this year the video was not available because of the switch over. I know I will be lost when I get to the rigging and I am one those people you can tell a thousand times or show me once. I am not sure I will build a vacationer either but in 5-6 years my kids will be old enough to work on it with me. (they help now but I get nervous if they grab something sharp ) I will also know by then if I even want a sail boat, or maybe one of them will get the boat building/sail bug!

I wanted to keep the VHS video, or at least watch it one or two more times.  Lots of neat tips and tricks there.  I had planned to buy the DVD from Stevenson's too, but we know about that being a problem for now.  Where are you located, Eric?  Perhaps I could loan it to you or somebody closer to you could?

Im in Hinton Alberta Canada, Gregg hold on to them for now if you change your mind later let me know. I was just at stevensons web site and there is a line through all telephone numbers so some one made some changes. Maybe a move? I hope everything is ok with them. Is Carmel close to that ugly fire?

There wasn't much information about rigging in the weekender video.

They kind of stop construction in the video after painting and fiberglassing and don't talk too much about the details such as pullies and ropes other than to point out some of the more nessecary bits and pieces (springs on deck pullies and such)

I did my rigging using the cartoons in the plans and it ended up being fairly painless, it was more difficult to get the windings right on the steering assembly than it was to get the pullies configured for the rigging.

I'll sell you my video though I'm not using it, my boat is complete.

The video is sold seperately and should be something that could be passed on or sold.  The plan set is different and there should be one per boat to give the Stevenson's their due.  There might even be an arguement made that since they sold the plans and published them in a book that can be found in the public domain that they should not expect the royalties, but I like supporting them and their business.  I am eager to see what changes were made to update the DVD from the VHS too.  I hope they get the com problems resolved.  Has anyone seen Mike Stevenson on here lately?  He use to participate from time to time, which I liked.

Hi. Newbie on the block.

I too have been trying to reach Stevenson Project to purchase a set of plans for the Vacationer.

I E-mailed them 3 times in the past month and received mail box full error.

Tried to called them and found that the phone was disconnected.

In searching the net for info on what was going on, so I went to Byyb and email for info if they new anything. My Email was returned as Spam.. Go Figure.. ???

So I found a link on Yahoo to here and check this topic out. I guess I wasn't the only one looking.

It's too bad because all I found were good things about Stevenson Project with no complaints.

I tried to order Plans on Stevensons back in 2005 but they were on vacation and were not taking orders. Then the job situation changed.

Now I figure that this would be a good time to try again and start a winter project of gathering and prepping the materials for a major spring outdoor project..

I was going to buy the plans with the DVD as a guide.

I'll try sending them a slow mail this weekend.

If it comes back then I will have to say they moved also..

Just have to find an alternative to getting some kind of plans. Any sugestions on alternative plans?

The phone number was changed on the website from a few years ago.

The current number has a recent message and has not been reassigned yet.

Too bad that he could not have allowed someone else to sell his plans for him.

The DVD is a new item compared to the VHS in the pass.

Just check the site. I'll have to study their plans some more. Cabins look small though compared to the Vacationer.

I prefer to talk to or Email people before ordering to get a feel of their business. I didn't order thinking the website was changed or under new management.

Now I'm glad I didnt jump the gun and order.

Here's a 22 footer I built for a customer in 2004. It has MUCH more room than a Vacationer I assure you.

And sails really well in stronger winds. Her name is Pilgrim and she shows her stern to many many other boats her size.
