There wasn't much information about rigging in the weekender video. They kind of stop construction in the video after painting and fiberglassing and don't talk too much about the details such as pullies and ropes other than to point out some of the more nessecary bits and pieces (springs on deck pullies and such) I did my rigging using the cartoons in the plans and it ended up being fairly painless, it was more difficult to get the windings right on the steering assembly than it was to get the pullies configured for the rigging. Yeah, I was trolling while sailing. dragging these plastic squid like lures behind the boat that the bait shop reccomended, I had chunks of squid heads on them. Two poles off the back of the boat. That shark is a bottom feeder, eats crabs and stuff that live in the sand... Dunno what it was doing eating a lure on the surface in 50 feet of water. A big fish put into the cockpit well doesn't have much room to flop around. Can't really build up much power. If your seats are open underneath it might be an issue though. My seats have no openings underneath so the cockpit well is really restrictive to their movements, A good place to put a fish while you get the hook out. Enjoy!

I built my weekender so I would have a boat to go fishing in the ocean with that I didn't have to own and maintain a gasoline motor for. Previously, I've been an aluminum johnboat solar-electric fisherman. Not suitable for offshore ventures. So now I'm a solar-electric sailboater in my home-built weekender. Well.. I finally caught my first offshore fish So now it's time to brag about it. This is a bonnethead shark. Thats about as big as they get. Was trolling a couple miles outside of Ponce Inlet, FL. Sharkmeat is currently soaking in milk and we're having it for dinner this evening - fish and chips style.

FWIW, the payment for stevenson plans goes through PayPal.. Which processes the payment right away even if there is no one in the shop. I'm sure they'll do you right when they return to their office.

I think they've been on vacation. I called a couple weeks ago to ask about sails.. Got the machine. Now it just rings with no machine (Probably full of messages) They'll be back.. Be patient. I wish I could take weeks off from work at a time I have to have screaming matches with my boss just to get one day off with 30 days advance notice. Really though, they will come back from being away soon enough. I didn't wait 6 weeks for my plans, But I'm sure I waited 4 weeks. I was sure anxious to get started on my project! The wait is just excruciating! Enjoy! David
