Spindrift grins and gash...

After more than a year building it, my Spindrift 11n "Dipsea Doodle" sails with two sons and their dad demonstrating the effect of sailing it. The boat demonstrates the effect of scraping it against the dock.

Very cool!  Your sons look like they are taking to sailing with some intensity, looking forward with expectation!  There's not much in life that's better than launching and sailing a boat you built yourself.

Nice choice of paint colors!!

You'll get over the dock rash.  My teenager has taken care of all of my "fears" for the next little while.  I figure I'll give it a good refinish when he's done with it!!!

I am definitely feeling Spindrift envy  .  She is a pretty boat you have built.  May I ask where the sails came from?  Is it a cat rig?

The beautiful sail with window was bought through Graham, and, yes, it's a cat rig. Sails great on all points ;D, is fast, holds a fairly sizeable crew, and it's a blast.
